I think that the main reason for hpts current level of inactivity has nothing to do with the game itself. There are probably 50-100 people who actually play in hpt somewhat actively and a whole lot more people who play scrims on the daily. The only reason hpt isnt active is because these scrim people will end up putting their team in hpt, and more often than not they will lose alot and then proceed to take their team out of hpt again and continue scrimming against people as bad as them. It used to be that bad teams would join hpt, lose alot, but stay with it and gradually become better. Now there just seems to be a large group of people who instead of actually trying to make a team for hpt, their content to continue scrimming bad people because they cant stand losing in an hpt setting. maybe im stating the obvios, i dont know, but if all these scrim teams joined hpt it would be so much more active. who cares if you lose the first couple games. Look at fiwdil, when they started they were something like 0-30 and now they can compete with every team left in the league. stop being noobs :( edit: also as ice said the one time, look at all the new people who played in the weeks of 4v4 tournaments that were hosted. why cant those guys make teams. there would probably be at least 5-10 new teams if they joined hpt Edited by arcade, Jan 8 2010, 01:12 PM.

You're right. There's a large number of people who scrim on the daily, whether it's an invent amongst peers, or against others of their own skill level(those kidz in m2k vent, antwonz kr3w, GL guyz, kř` guyz, sameer&cloony's teams etc.). They're afraid of playing in the league because they find it pointless. HAC + recording, isn't really an issue now a days. Enough people still play this game. I'm always asked to scrim every time I'm online. I've personally encouraged people who choose to scrim with their e-fwends to sign up and join, I usually get the same responses: "HPT, is dead" "We're not ready for that kind of stuff". It's not much, but if they did sign up and play, it would make a difference. If there's like 60-70 people showing up for a weekly tournament, then surly there should be a good number of teams(well atleast more than 3-4 ffs). |

LOL. the outsiders dont matter. the hpt points dont fucking matter. if you guys are the best hpc players in the world, and you all know each other. and you all readf this site everyday, you should all be in one vent with all your friend scrimming or "matching" when you re online... (like the successful 4v4s Tourneys problem solved. I Have been saying this for a year. when you make this party awesome. outsiders will flock to it. but currently is impossible or "not worth it" [the time required to hpt vs pub or scrim] |

arcade wants more action. i can understand that. the "scrim noobs" (all of us) he's refering to simply get together and play halo. Why cant the "oldschool" HPTers do that more? |

SHUT THE FUCK UP arcades 100% right. theres a huge amount of kids that do nothing but scrim and talk shit to ppl in HPT; but they never last more than a week on a team. more players = more teams = more activity. we dont need to use a stupid ass community vent to play matches but we do need teams to play against. sam your goal is to get everyone in halo to forget about leagues and clans and just get along and play together all the time. you have to realize who you're proposing this to. we dont want to use 1 vent. we dont care about you or what you did last weekend. we enjoy talking shit to rivals in the league. if your arent going to make suggestions to help the league itself, find a new forum. |

4v4 tourneys are ok, but really not that awesome. we all have groups of people we enjoy playing with. if bron's group or whoever those people play with just made a team, took it seriously, and played, they'd get better in no time. however, they won't do this because people care about e-rep, etc. sam we could easily get 30 people in vent and have random-ass 4v4s, but thats not a good league structure. teams need to have CHEMISTRY. you need to LIKE who you are playing with and have fun while playing. sure, losing isn't that fun, but starting off as a losing team and rising to the top surely is. these kids need to just join hpt and realize points and records don't mean a damn thing... while i'm at it sam, we use private vents because we don't enjoy talking to (well, at least I don't, im not sure about flimz and such) random ass people who constantly join the channel, etc. i don't come on here to play with random kids in vent everyday and scrim against random people, i come to play and have fun with a select group of people i like -_- Edited by appals, Jan 8 2010, 02:52 PM.

sm you keep preaching the same thing but your wanting to go the exact opposite way i am. The only reason the game has stayed alive as long as it has is the competition aspect of it. You want everyone to hold hands and scrim, which would completely kill any competition left in the game. i want more people to make hpt teams and actually compete for something (points, prizes, erep, idc). Red-i: less than a month ago you made a team that was designed to allow the newer players to halo a chance to play in hpt. within the first couple days/week your team lost the vast majority of your matches and your clan ended up dieing shortly after. Until people like you can actually make a team that sticks together for more than a month, what is the point of reducing the roster size? |

Reason why noobs wont hpt is because their going to be playing stacked teams. A person does not want to loose 50 times then finally win a game. There is no point in doing that. Maybe for the exception of FIWDIL. But like 2 months later they just got carried the whole time. This applies to most of you people in hpt. STOP BEING FAGGOTS and let the noobs in your team. Teach them to play, teach them the strats for maps and whatnot. You were noobs when you started too and gradually got better. So basically let them join your team, every team should do this to bring activity of HPT up. My experience. I HPT with people that i would hang out with in vent. Sonar, hotsy, samuri, ryda, shocky, kingstrike etc... We played matches and lost over 30 times then finally said fuck it. i didnt hpt for couple months , then sod and busta joined my clan. all we did were 3v3's and we did well for ourselves. But i still didnt know how to play the maps on halo. Then ZP came along Aqua let me join his clan. I had to keep playing with him to get better learn strats and stuff. Even though aqua is a faggot DICK Head and would yell at me in vent if i did something wrong while playing saying "CTUPRO YOUR TERRIBLE". Even though i haven't played this game as long as that faggot did. i still stuck around just to get better. Reason why i like to scrim/ invent is because the people i play with are cool and they are fun to talk to. Also most of the people who i want to talk with probably wont happen because they already have their own group of butt buddies and dont want to meet anyone else. For example. Clan noone vent i would like to talk to them and get to play with them, but that probably wont happen. I would gladly HPT but im not on a team therefore i dont care and i find scrims more fun. If anyone would like to invite me to their hpt team go ahead. But i doubt that will happen since most of you guys are all butt buddies and dont let other people you dont know play with you. Also most of you i believe dont like loosing. |

except zp was just esu[ +ctupro and outburs, nobody else was on the team. SO Basically, what your saying is when you were in zp, no "scrim noobs" wanted to hpt because zp was stacked. nice job contradicting yourself ctu pro. ALSO, remember that week where we FIRST had the league unlocked. that week was active, why don't we keep the league open, so people don't have to ask an admin to unlock. |

HPT isn't as active as it once was because I just don't have the time to put forth as much effort as i'd like. I'd also like to point out the majority of the kids who posted in this thread have no idea what their talking about. Arcade made a good point and i agree, it's up to the players if they want to play more matches. I'm willing to help change if the rest of the community is. |
