game 1 magic/celtics, the celtics won but they almost blew a 20 point lead. if the magic play like they did in the 4th quarter for the whole game the magic will win 4 sure
finally, we agree on sumin. The magic just played BAD the first 3 quarters, prob cuz of the lag from not playing for ages

edit: i really would like to know who the fuck thought the celtics would beat the cavs, like really. Even trapt was like oh fuckk we are screwed
I actually did, but I was still in school and not visiting these forums much and therefore failed to see this thread, so take my word as bullshit or whatever, but I thought the Celtics would win in 7. (Think I posted that somewhere else).

Let's face it, after Lebron and Jamison, there is no one on that team. Mo Williams?? Washed up Shaq? AnDerSOn Vareijay or however you spell it? SOLID! Only guy I like at all might be Delonte West on that team, but his ass is bi-polar so you don't know what he'll do ever.

lol

lol Gimme a break. That team is terribly put together and if Lebron doesn't act smart and leave for Chicago this summer, he'll never win a championship.

Whoever said Rondo might be the best pg in the league right now, I mean. lol. That's just ridiculous. Let's not be ridiculous here. Rondo doesn't even make my top 3.
1. Deron Williams
2. Derrick Rose
3. Chris Paul
4. Steve Nash
5. C. Billups

You put Rondo ahead of any of them? If so you do not watch basketball on a regular basis and clearly know nothing about this game. Please vacate this thread.

I read something about Kobe dick riders, which might be true for me (though I lived in S. Cali for like 10 years so maybe I got my reasons), but then the same can be said about riding Lebron's dick. I admit he is a great player, but I hate it when people start comparing him to Jordan and the greats when he could very easily get hurt tomorrow and his career could be over. Would you look at what he's done so far and say "oh he's one of the best ever?" Of course you wouldn't. You can put Kobe up there though because he's put in his time and has showed he can win a championship (with or without Shaq). Speaking of Shaq, sure he's a bit washed up at 38 years of age, but let's not pretend like he can't hold his own out there for a bit. Shaq brought championships to both LA and Miami with Wade, yet the 'supposed' greatest player in the NBA (2-time MVP LOL) couldn't manage to do it with Shaq? Sure best record in the NBA two years straight (In a weak Eastern conference), but that means nothing if you can't be clutch. Watching the last few games of the Cavs/Celtics series, dunno if he was just hurt or just didn't care. He didn't have any fire in him like you see from the likes of Kobe or Jordan during their playoff runs to championship rings.

I just think Lebron needs a lot of work on his game before he can be considered the best in the nba. I still put Kobe ahead of him for a few reasons.

Lebron has no post game, Kobe actually has a very nice post game.
Lebron is not a consistent outside shooter. Sometimes he can be on fire, and other nights (like a few times in the Celts series) he does absolutely nothing. Passes the ball off at any given chance, and doesn't really do anything offensively. I understand he is trying to get his team more involved, but sometimes when you are the star player you just need to take over. Fucking Kobe averaged 30+ points during his series with the Jazz.
Lebron still isn't a great free throw shooter, but this is something relatively minor.
Don't feel Lebron takes care of the rock as much as he should either. More turnovers than necessary.

Lebron gets some lame shit go his way quite frequently like this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36nT2osudy0

Whoever decides to pick up the Lebron bandwagon, just remember last years Carmelo vs Kobe debate lol. That ended well.
QFT, but i disagree about rondo. while he isn't as effective as a scorer as someone like derrick rose (beast) or deron williams, the way he passes and facilitates the celtics offense blows me away. doc rivers doesn't even call plays anymore, he just leaves it up to rondo. i wouldn't say he's the best but he's def a top tier point guard and passer.

because boston's only concern was having healthy players since their team is older (ray allen 34, pierce 32, garnett 33). they didn't really care about having the best record in the regular season, they just wanted their team to be 100% going in to playoffs.

and to expand on erosions point, shaq was still a dominant force on the court even if he was washed up. the cavs had the best records in the league for the last 2 years, yet they choke in playoffs. is it because the team is bad? OBVIOUSLY NOT, BECAUSE THEY HAD THE BEST RECORD 2 YEARS IN A ROW. they are just a bad playoff team, and lebron leads the choke train

I'll admit Rondo has an interesting style, but he has a lot to work on like lol shooting in general. Free throws?? You can't even give him the ball when the game is close at the end of the game. He was in-bounding the ball in game 1 near the end there lOL.

Rondo's style works well against teams that don't have solid players in the paint where he can just cut and slash through the defense (oh and on teams that don't have competent point guards like Cleveland). He is an up and rising pg, but it'll be at least a few more years before he can make it into the top 5 in the league.

I mean what about Baron Davis? Aaron Brooks? Fucking Russell Westbrook from the Thunder who is going to be a fUcking Beast in a few years. You see him perform against the Lakers in the playoffs? Fantastic player.

No no. I just don't see Rondo there yet sorry.

QFT, dumbass, you got that rondo thing from an ESPN analyst I saw that shit, don't try and act like you know shit about ball ok now for this erosion nigga. I agree with ur Rondo point, that was this xcutionerz niggeh, but that's still debatable

You're pretty much wrong about everything for Lebron. Lebron>Kobe at this point in his career, and you can't deny that. You clearly don't watch lebron enough to see how he plays. I love how everyone says he's on the "choke" train, he's a choker, etc. Were you saying that shit when he scored 29 of his last 30 vs the pistons? when he hit that game winning shot on the wizards, when he hit that game-winning shot on the magic? He's had some of the most EPIC postseason games in history and here you are saying "DUDE HES A CHOKER LAWL??" thats like saying Kobe was a choker after his first few years in the league (which he was, but he got WAY better after time, if you go look up the "clutch" stats which they have for every player, I think Lebron is higher than Kobe or Kobe is just a lil bit higher). Yet again, you idiots are being biased, also I'll say this again, the coaching staff for the Cavs is TERRIBLE and yes Mo williams is a choker, but u can't say that shaq was anywhere near his prime. Shaq might have brought Wade a championship but you can't deny Wade absolutely DESTROYED that series, not many people watched that series I know for a fact, but Wade was phenomenal. The Shaq of three years ago is nothing compared to now, he completely let himself go after that as far as staying in shape to play extended minutes. Also, you kind of proved your own point by stating that everyone on the Cavs sucked so good job making a point there. I'm pretty sure Lebron had that fire for the first few games which you clearly didn't watch because of the stuff you're stating, every single player on the Cavs was demoralized after that loss in Cleveland. I'm not making excuses for Lebron but you can do the same for Kobe. How did the Lakers not win in '04 when they had the most epic lineup ever!? Shaq, Malone, Kobe, Payton (don't gimme that injury bs because they recovered in the playoffs).

I agree with you that Lebron needs to work on ALOT, Kobe has poured so much time into the game scoring wise, dude would shoot thousands of shots from 1 spot of course he's gonna have a better shot if he has a work ethic like that. Ok now Lebron's gameplay I lol'd at cuz u have no idea what you're talking about. First off, Lebron def has a post game, dude can back down pretty much any SF in the league. I agree Lebron is not consistent with his outside shooting but you act like Kobe is?? Look at their stats, Lebrons FG% this year is higher than Kobe's career high so looks like you're wrong about the efficiency. Passing I just lol'd, how can you compare when Kobe's career high average for assists is 6 and lebrons career low avg is 5.9 (which was in his rookie season). Lebron definitely knows how to distribute the ball its not any given chance, thats fuckin stupid. NASH KNOWS HOW TO PASS ON ANY GIVEN CHANCE. However, I completely agree with you on the fact that he is not aggressive enough, sometimes he plays really dumb and it's stupid when he tries to get his teammates involved. At some point, you need to take over and he didnt do that. Yet again, you're being 1 sided with the stats though, Lebron avgd 30+ vs the bulls, doesn't change anything. You're being 1 sided AGAIN regarding TOs. Kobe avgd 3.7 TO through the playoffs so far and Lebron avgd 3.8. Lebron does turn over the rock more but just a little, on the other hand Kobe isn't asked to run the offense nearly as much as Lebron and you can't deny that. The Cavs offense is lebron, while the lakers can run it through Gasol, Bynum, or Odom. Also, steve Nash has avg'd 4.4 TO this postseason, the guy runs the offense, it happens.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8jx6K2DrXo

See, I can post links also. And remember the elbow to bibby's face and how the Nba rigged the WCF finals in 02? Yeah, it happens to every player so don't come in here with that BS. Also, the melo debate was a 1 time thing, Melo wasn't mentioned at all in the debate previous to that. Kobe vs Lebron has been up in the air since like Lebrons 2nd year in the league lol. So I'll repeat it again to all the morons, do your research for BOTH SIDES before you come up in here and talk like you know shit, thanks. You can't deny that OVERALL, lebron is better right now, just a fact. Kobe will def be the better shooter/clutch player, but overall lebron wins. I wouldn't go so far as to say Kobe is a better scorer either because to me, driving is WAY more efficient than shooting and Lebron does it alot more so he's pretty efficient. I'd say Kobe is a better scorer just because of his clutch performance but EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE has their bad game/bad stretch including Kobe so you guys can stop acting like he doesn't do bad either, thanks. Also, I never compared Lebron to Jordan, ever. You can make some stat comparisons, but Jordan is the LEGEND, no1 will ever take his throne, read the fuckin threads before you post random shit like that.

lebron is not a better player than Kobe...yet. He can't shoot and he has zero post game or midrange game. I mean cmon why do u think teams say u have to let lebron beat u on the outside? For Kobe u have to let his teammates beat u or make him take poor shots

ur also basing your entire argument on stats and that clutch stat which is lol. He gets rebounds bc he plays a position that allows him to get more. He gets assists bc he runs the offense like a pg

even if Kobe were a pg instead of a sg he probably wouldn't get the assists bc of the system which they run the offense.

they're different types of players but in an offensive friendly league I would take Kobe over lebron

I don't have to look at stats to know who is a better player. When I compare mj to Kobe I don't look at fuckin stats lol. Just watch them. Lebron is a one dimensional player. But when he gets hot people think his outside game is great when it isn't at all.

Alright so I wrote all that after working 12 hours last night on no sleep. Time to write something with a few less holes in it.

Looking at this link I quoted, it's laughable that you would even use that as any proof that Lebron is more clutch. Did you even look closely at those statistics? Lebron had 45 games where he could have the opportunity to be clutch while Kobe had a mere 28 (probably because there were generally so ahead of their opponents) and yet Kobe still manages to be 2nd on that list. I mean are you watching this playoff game against the Suns right now? Kobe has sat most of the 4th quarter. LOL. And he still managed to drop 40. (I forgot who said the Suns would advance, but nigga please.)

Lol Good one. I also notice during those "clutch" 4th quarter moments Lebron has a much larger turnover margin (4.1 compared to 3.3) further cementing my previous statement.

Nice highlight reel. Maybe I should post a few. Too bad I couldn't help but notice Lebron miss two free throws and force a 3 that he air balls in overtime that they didn't need. He could have drove to the basket or gone for a short 2 and it would have sealed the game. Or simply making 1 of those 2 he missed. lollll Also I'm pretty sure he traveled on that last clip vs Washington.

Guess I should post a few youtube links now!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djfrU_AdU-w&feature=related You could argue that 3rd dunk was hard, but the other 3 weren't. lol

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tT9WW0L8Qso&feature=related

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KlivRt4E-qA&feature=related

^ That one is fucking epic. Notice him tossing up shit while double teamed. Failing to find the open man. Good teammate.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZPRQCqxG_I&feature=related Lebron quoted calling Kobe the best player in the NBA. Lol.

Nobody is saying Lebron is a bad player. I just don't think he's at Kobe's level yet. And whoever said rings don't mean anything is simply saying that because Lebron has none. If the roles were reversed you'd be all about the rings. Do you need 6 like Jordan? Probably not, but it certainly helps. Nobody ever said rings by themselves make you a great player. Nobody is about to argue for Robert Horry lol, but Bill Russell on the other hand? MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM maybe!

You say Lebron had that fire in the first few games. (I've watched almost every NBA playoff game this year so lol please don't assume as you did that I haven't) But then again Lebron was shooting well during those games. I'm saying when he is doing poorly, which as you said everyone does every now and then, he gives up. Kobe on the other hand does not. This was clearly evident in the Celtics series. I got some more stuff to say, but no doubt you'll respond so I'll just leave it for my rebuttal after you respond.

Oh

Fucking exactly. Lebron throws up this ridiculous shit all the time. Only reason his FG% is anything at this point is because when his shot is failing, he drives to the basket. He's a big boy and a pretty dominant when he does so and generally people just back out of the way for him. Yes he is good at driving into the paint and is solid at it, but that's about it. He's not even that great of a defender.

Edit: Animal stop using "kobe dick riding" as a form of your argument. SHould I say your Lebron dick riding? because that statement would be just as accurate. If you can't formulate an argument without having to use some lame ass repetitive insult, you should just stop now.
