The internet is really awesome, although for Halo my lead isn't any smaller than it was on DSL when I was in my APT in Baltimore, and I occasionally have routing issues and I lag like nobody's business. Works fine for CSS and everything not-gaming related though. |

I'd say no. They run fiber optic lines, only for all that light-reflected data to be translated back into copper wiring. However good copper may be at conducting electrons, nothing beats light-reflected evanescent wave coupling! Basically nothing beats photon energy... So, in essence, it's a marketing gimmick until they deliver actual fios cabling to your machine. but it's still pretty fast..however most websites aren't going to let you use the full potential of your net. Imagine being a server capable of being downloaded at a rate of XXX/s. The server isn't going to put your connection over others because it is faster, it is going to treat all of your connections the same and send data out according to the data pulls on it's own environment. Basically it's really good for Verizon, because it can send your data much more cheaply over long distances (with fiber optics, it requires less power), but then it gets to your house and then you end up losing all that potential speed as it gets translated into copper wiring.
