I don't think you guys realize that some of those guys were professional gamers switching from established games to make a quick buck off of halo. Their existence consisted primarily of playing their respective video games upwards of 5 hrs a day, probably even more.

If they would have remained in the community, they would be the best players for sure. I think players like myself or bamboo certainly would be a slight thorn in their side, but I don't think we'd be as good as them.

Some people are just amazing at every video game, the hardcore video gamers, one of my good friends is one but he'd never play halo PC now. I think that's the difference those type of gamers, they pick up a game master it and go buy a new one.

^^^ definitely... newer players who have improved a lot in the past aren't that amazing when it comes down to the wire. Look at the other thread where theory posted a shit load of screenshots.. look at the ones aqua posted. So much for washed up shitties. There's a reason they(ø`) win their matches. xd and i have no idea if this has anything to do with the thread.

Why do some of you idolize those old players as if they were gods. Unless they were able to constantly hs and 3sk, then they were nothing special. Surely, they could have had good teamwork but Halo isnt exactly a complex game where you need over the top strategies or communication to have advantages over your adversaries.

I'm sorry, but people who installed Halo in 2008 talking arrogantly about players and teams from early 2004 is absurd.

Yes as the size of the match gets bigger, I understand that teamwork comes more into place and the teams with better teamwork have the advantage. However, in 2v2s or 3v3s I really doubt that they would completely dominate.

I don't think you understand.

These guys. play games. to make a living.

You play them as a hobby. You would lose. I would lose.

Considering that you aren't even a top tier killer by today's standards, a professional gamer who plays around 6-8 hours EVERY DAY will not only have better aim than you, he will be a smarter player who is able to read the strategies of opponent's much more easily.

We're not idolizing the entirety of old school halo because, frankly, most of old school halo sucked, but you're stupid if you think that the pro gamers who switched over to halo to make fast money aren't better gamers than you.

yeah but 2v2s doesn't really mean shit in competitive halo pc and never did at all

it was all about 5v5's cal assault and cpl assault

just like in css no one cares about 2v2s

i think there was one 1v1 halo tourney for cpl and it wasn't even 1v1... it was free for all

LOL, 2 vs 2's are the most competitive aspect of this game. These guys would of been timing every weapon (and using them) and pups as well as having top of the line computers and being amazing gamers.

Because whether you realize it or not, some of them are 'gods' as far as gaming goes. Some of these teams that moved from Halo, well, they're at the top of every other game too right now. They win thousands of dollars in LAN tournaments as well. They probably quit Halo because there were better opportunities in competition in games like counter strike, Quake, Call of Duty, etc...

http://area51gaming.com/

I'm sure if a team like that came to Halo, it would be easy. These players, for the most part, do have good computers. And over recent years, if you haven't noticed, the learning curve of Halo has changed a ton. New players can pick this game up quite easily.

So in gametypes none of those teams remotely played, considered, or cared about, they wouldn't be dominant. Do you realize how idiotic this sounds? Stop posting, holy shit.

Once again, Ill reiterate what I've been trying to say. Halo IS NOT a complex game and does not require quick reflexes or anything special to keep up with the competition at least to a certain extent. However, css is a different story. Pro players in css could demolish the average community because css is that much more of an intricate game.

I disagree, i would argue that halo is more complex.
Buy you would have to play competitive xbox halo to understand.

If you ever got to play a proper halo pc team you wouldn't stand a chance.
