Acting was kinda weird and the dialogue (if sub'd right) was meh but that's not really the point of this movie and it took me awhile to get around to it.
Ip Man 2: 7/10 The story is really just like fearless except that final fight is one of the best things ever.

ong bak: haha well, 6.5/10 I guess? I mean that fucking knee...the fighter is ridiculous but that story and that shiiiiitty throat cancer villain was really hard to watch. The fights were great and honestly I have no fucking clue how he propels forward like 5 feet everytime his knee folds out, he's a god dam beast
xf-bigbade [ss]co: i aint a hakr type [ss]co: nigga [ss]co: im a blow a nigga on da sidewalk type
dude it should get higher than 6.5 just for the fighting. watch the second one too, better story imo, shit ton more weapon fighting (don't remember any weapons in the first one). third one blows seed
well yeah I agree but it's still a movie and as a movie I had trouble focusing on any parts that weren't fighting, towards the end I was talking on steam at the same time which I usually don't do when watching movies [ I just watch the movie full screen and do nothing on the side]. The 2nd isn't on netflix but I've heard that it is better yeah, I don't care much about weapon fighting cause I'm in it for the martial arts but I'll check it out.
I think it's common rule that #3 of any kung fu movie is avoid at all costs :|

How could you possibly be confused about why it sucked?

Like 10 scenes and random shit that didn't need to happen other than "oh look explosions pshdfererfdfd michael bay" The fact that NATO let a terrorist go for the wife of a criminal is beyond unbelievable and just all around stupid as fuck The rock would have lost his job if anything for pulling a gun Then there was the interrogation scene in the beginning where the rock not only destroyed the room but also beat the shit out of someone And then they throw in some horrible twist of the rock's partner being a bad guy the whole time, like why even put that in? It literally didn't affect the movie at all whatsoever if anything she helped the good guys more than foil them or do practically anything. Then there's the airplane scene where they are on the runway for like a fucking hour lmao And then LOL to top it all off they are jumping straight down into a moving car from a moving plane.
I'm pretty happy that I saved myself the trouble of never seeing the rest of these movies because holy shit it was the most unbelievable/poorly written movie I've ever seen in awhile.

According to imdb the avg rating for the movie is a 7.5/10 so what are you trying to say here? Also, everyone I know thinks the movie was decent/good.

Why am I in this thread? Because I can state my opinion.
A lot of bad movies can get good reviews/awards even if in terms of good writing/directing/acting they are bad (and this movie was, if you think this movie had good of any of the 3 I just listed, you must be like 15 and think transformers is a masterpiece) from the imdb profile for the movie this review sums it up the best;
Quote:
You shouldn't watch this movie if:
1) You care about the laws of physics 2) You actually want to see illegal street races 3) You are over 12 4) You know something about cars (and planes... and tanks) 5) You expect movies to have a script 6) You think the memory loss Tom & Jerry plot is too old 7) You want jokes to be funny 8) You want to see good acting 9) You want to see Jason Statham
However, if you are under 12 and you think The Rock rocks, you should definitely watch this.[
In my previous post I pointed out the basic and unbelievable plot holes, it's just ridiculous.

I watch movies for entertainment and I was entertained. Therefore I was satisfied. The rest doesn't matter as much to me as it may matter to you and some others.
Drop your standards and bend over. Why does it matter if IMDb gave the movie some mediocre rating? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0312528/ They also gave that title 2.6 points more than it should have received. I'm not sure if your friends' opinions really matter. You can state your opinion and reasons backing it- no problem. Your comment, "all I have to say to that is, It's a movie. what do you expect?" is a little bit ridiculous though.
If I watch a movie, it is because I think it has potential or I think it will deliver. A plot-hole free movie isn't asking too much at all.

Like I said then you must be like 15 and think transformers was a masterpiece, I don't plan on lowering my standards just to pay to see a movie that is beyond ridiculous and unbelievable and just poorly written and acted out.

Pretty much this ^
There are a lot of 12-15 year olds/dumb people in general that probably rated the movie high.
Not 15 / didn't like any transformer besides the first one. Anyways you're right about the rating on imdb, doesn't matter much. Like I said I go to movies to be entertained and I was. Mostly why I rated it a 7/10. But I guess if you're a huge movie critic you may think it had many flaws and disliked it for those reasons but I don't really expect a movie to be realistic. Which is why I said it was a movie, what do you expect? To be all realistic?
