I need to know the best video compressor because apparently all the ones I use (xfire codec mostly) are probably the reason why my game slows down. Today, while recording, it was showing 375 fps on chillout and the game was slow as shit. I have a good processor, decent HDDs, but I think the data files are too big and take longer to write on the HDD. What is the best codec that compresses these shitteh files.

the better the codec, the more CPU it needs to process the video... so bad question

90% of cpu "slowing down" problems are because of HDD. you need to defrag more often because the blocks that need to be written are miles away frmo each other and take longer for the HDD to spin into place before writing.

FRAPs takes the heat off the CPU (because of its shitty compression) and places most of the burden onto the HDD. I think PlayClaw and Xfire codecs do the same. Wegame on the other hand compresses alot better, so it may hit your FPS but it will never be your HDD's fault.

fraps uses no compression, playclaw has the same option

i would recommend playclaw if you're having problems though

blade you can post screenshots of you beating people like louie in 1v1s as much as you want (seriosly with your sound, set up, and stopwatch you shouldnt lose a 1v1) but it doesnt change the fact that he is 20x the player you are.

oho chalupa cutie. English is basically my first language. And i've mentioned this before too, but when I record, my game slows down immensely.

PlayClaw was the most decent one, but I can't run it while I have Comodo Installed. I've even added it to the list of trusted programs. I'll give it a try I guess.

Wegame is just stupid. Souless, could the issue be me not defragmenting my drives? I record to a different drive, cause I basically have a dual boot system. I'll defrag and let you know how it goes.

again, chalula, oho cute.
