srsly, why would we ever give up pau gasol for derrick williams? rofl the lakers need to go after a point guard that will both solve their problem and leave the current core of kobe/pau/bynum (unless of course, we get the opportunity to trade for deron williams or rajon rondo), the two best candidates are ramon sessions and jose calderon |

Nah. The difference is Lin actually can play and became a star based on what he did on the court, not his faith. |

Man been a while since I've been on these forums/read this thread... Here is my 32 cents on everything.. - Brandon jennings is not a player a team can build around. I can probably name close to 10 point guards I would rather have on my team. be happy that he is leaving. - Jeremy lin has been a lot of fun to watch thus far although he clearly still has a lot of flaws in his game. However, I do think he is the real deal and will only continue to improve. I don't like carmelo though..Oh and I would love to see Lin get harassed by rondo and avery bradley all game. - As for my celtics....I wish Ainge would just go ahead and do a roster overload. Let us rebuild please. |

lots of teams would be willing to part with young pieces for guys like ray allen and kg. keep pierce doe, he's the youngest out of the big 3, has the least miles, and is still the best. |

I don't think it would be a bad idea to consider parting ways with rondo as well. Don't get me wrong I think he is a premier pg and is personally one of my favorite players. However, I don't know if he is the type of player we should build around. He has been known to cause trouble within the locker room and without veterans such as kg around this could get out of hand. On top of that I feel like his poor shooting ability is still an issue. Once players such as Pierce and Allen are gone he is most likely going to be relied on much more. Could he step up and take on more of a scoring role? Perhaps..he has shown flashes of it in the past. Something I have thought about is the possibility of working out a trade with Phoenix for Nash and Gortat. Now before you say I'm out of my mind just hear me out. If the celtics could trade rondo and jermaine o'neal for those two players could you not make an argument that they were a better team? In return we are receiving a veteran pg who has shown this season that he still has the ability to play at a high caliber. Not only is he one of the best passers in NBA history, but he is also a much more efficient shooter than rondo. With the addition of a player such as Gortat we would also be gaining both athleticism and scoring at the center position. This would make the celtics a much harder team to defend against and arguably gives them a better opportunity of advancing further into the playoffs... So what if this did not work out. Ok, so now your stuck with a 37 year old point guard who is most likely going to retire within a season or two...Along with that both KG and Allen have contracts that expire leaving your team with enough money to go out and acquire max contract players. You are also left with Pierce and one of the league's younger more talented centers. In my opinion the Center position is the hardest to fill in the NBA. It would be much easier to replace a point guard. From here you have young players such as Avery Bradley who have proved that they are capable of playing major roles. It is believed by many that Bradley is one of the best, if not the best, on ball defenders in the league. Rookies such as E'twaun Moore and Jawuan Johnson have also shown glimpses of what they are capable of this season. If you look at it in Phoenix's perspective I think receiving rondo in return for an aging Nash would be a plus. I'm not sure they would be willing to give up Gortat. Would giving up Rondo be so bad? I'm not saying they should give up rondo...just pointing out the idea that it may not be a bad idea. Also I'm not even sure if that trade would be possible upfront. May have to be altered.. Edit: According to the nba trade machine that trade would work. Edited by Trapt, Feb 19 2012, 01:05 AM.

gortat is arguably a top 5 center in the league and is only 27, he is probably a big piece of phoenix's future plans. i doubt they would part with him for a point guard who isn't really a franchise player. |

I agree and disagree at the same time. Like I said before it is harder to come around a good center these days and for that reason I believe Phoenix would never do this trade. However, I think it would be easier for them to build around rondo..which probably contradicts everything I previously said about having him on the celtics..but obviously that is because I just want the best for my team. Look at it from another players perspective. Would you join a team that has rondo a player who can run an efficient offense and provide elite defensive capability against arguably any pg in the league, or a young center who averages double doubles? this novak and lin combo... 2 GUD. NOVAK > ALLEN 2EZ jk but hes reall gooooood lin can actually d pretty well ^_^ and he has more points than anyone in the league from the day he started? w0w JR SMITH is also a really good addition. I like it. Can't wait until melo comes back and see what happens. They really do have a good starting 5 now. Edited by HPT-60053, Feb 19 2012, 03:29 PM.

Man we had no business being in that game. Our defense is atrocious. But holy crap that was an awesome 4th and OT. Westbrook has been amazing the past 10 or so games. His shooting has been great. Durant has been seriously amazing this year and the crazy thing is LeBron has been even better. |
