Westbrook 3-22, Durant 11-34, and Harden gets knocked out and the Lakers barely win at home in 2 OT's. If Artest doesnt knock out Harden, they win this easily.

Artest shouldnt play in the playoffs, especially if Harden is out for an extended period of time.
i doubt durant would have been able to score 35 points with artest guarding him, but you are probably right, we dont have the defense to keep up with harden and westbrook
lol durant had an awful night, and artest cant lock durant down anymore.

@balla

are you serious..? artest knew what he was doing. no one cocks an elbow like that and swings upward. watch the video again and notice how much he moves his body to hit Harden. the wind up on that was brutal and very intentional. maybe he didnt mean to hit him in the softest part of the head, but he still did it.

also, no. love stepping on scolas face is not even remotely close to this. dont even try to argue that.
He didn't swing upward, but horizontally. He wasn't looking at Harden at all when it happened. There's tons of physical contact in the game and it's easy for some contact to go unnoticed, especially after a huge play with your adrenaline pumping.

Lots of players flail their arms/elbows out, look @ kobe. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUxsK_2imYI
How is what Kobe's done any different from Artest? Answer: Media and hype.

Kevin Love stomping on Scola's face is much worse because he was already pissed at Scola the play before and he looked down at him as he stepped on him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SDf5QO_bko

What Artest did to Harden was severe, but obviously unintentional. People need to lay off the haterade and get over the fact that Artest isn't a "raging psychopath" but a tough, physical player working on his temper issues in an extremely challenging sport.

Agreed with everything except "Artest cant lockdown Durant anymore"

Last time I checked, Artest hasnt lost his physical strength, which makes him such a great defender and an ideal one for Durant. If you are physical with Durant and push him away from the basket, you can severely limit him. (Unless he's on fire, you're not blocking a 6'10 guy with his frame) He's never been quick, instead relying on his strength to take bumps and hold his ground, hiding that there was any real contact made worthy of a foul.

On topic, he bumps into Harden and then throws the elbow. 1) What kind of celebration is that elbow motion anyway? 2) You'd think that the contact would be a sign that someone is in the area so maybe I should pause until he cleared the other player before doing whatever you want to call that motion. This totally ignores that when you have a history like Artest, you have lost the benefit of the doubt in cases like this and deservedly so.

READ THE MOTHAFUCKING THREAD, BEFORE YOU MOTHAFUCKIN POST
If artests elbow didn't hit hardens face he would of done a full 360. Look how far his elbow follows through after the impact. They need to do one of those sports science segments on this lol

Also, peripheral vision

Yes, someone stepping on your face is way worse than a wound up elbow to one of the softest parts of the human skull.

That could of paralyzed or even killed Harden. You're a moron if you think Scola getting his chin stepped on is worse.

Well it's a good thing no one in sports thinks like you. Some of the worst physical injuries in sports have been accidents and there's a reason players aren't punished equally regarding accidents and acts of predetermined violence. What happened was severe, but unintentional. The NBA obviously felt the same way and gave him a 7 game suspension (stern alluded to his rep being a factor), instead of banning him from the NBA (lol at some idiots suggesting this on ESPN) or the post season.

i think the suspension was fine. arguing it wasn't intentional or "not as bad" as Scola getting stepped on is where my issue was.

he was hardly "mauled", he was guarded physically. you're a moron if you think Artest's suspension was because the NBA is "too soft" nowadays.

this. the idea that the league would even consider making a rule for "fake flops" shows the softness

durant lights up anybody. artest forced him to get to the line.

lmao went over your heads. Aqua didn't say the NBA isn't soft, it's more like it's common knowledge and you specifically stating it as if that's some new idea is laughable because the 80s looked soft to say the 50s/60s
