Because we hired Mike Dantoni who is a subpar fucking coach, Dwight Howard clogs up the post for Gasol making him take jumpshots and 3's, while Nash can't guard his damn shadow, our bench is non-existent AGAIN and Kobe is playing hero ball, 1v3, every damn game. /rant. |

you can't really blame kobe when he's shooting 48 percent and when dwight and pau combine for 4-22 shooting efforts, which i believe they actually did the other night, if not worse. not to mention when nash is racking up 10 assists a game, he is just getting open and having a hot hand, not playing hero ball. although i would prefer him to shoot less and play less minutes to preserve him for the playoffs. i thought that was part of the reason we fired mike brown?? wtf... if pau and drew were able to coexist, dwight and pau should be able to as well but d'antoni is a moron at managing bigs and has pau out on the perimeter all game. we dont need him to be a stretch four, thats what we signed antawn jamison for. the same antawn jamison who is rotting away on our bench. jodie meeks and ron artest just aren't consistent enough offensively. give jamison 20-25 minutes a night as a primary bench scorer he'll put up 15 points a game. i do like his choice to develop darius morris, our only player who doesn't need a cane to scoot down the court. all in all, d'antoni was yet another bad decision by jim buss, who is just mad phil is banging his sister and shes LOVIN it. zen master? more like the Lovemaster Edited by connybear, Jan 5 2013, 11:29 AM.

Truth. I never thought I'd say this but at this point I'd rather have Mike Brown back. I never blamed Kobe. Kobe is the only one doing his job. Nash is consistent but doesn't shoot as often as he could and has no defense. Completely agree with the Jamison thing. Dantoni just never made sense as a coach of the Lakers. I am completely mindfucked as to why we didn't wait for Phil. Even that interim coach Bernie is a better fit than Dantoni. I fucking hate David Stern though, can you imagine if we actually had CP3. Bullshit. |

I'm honestly not sure that we will make it to the playoffs but I figure that if we do we have a slight chance of making it to the Finals. Then again that's the fan in my talking. I mean on paper Howard, Gasol, Kobe, Nash, MWP seems like a solid 5-6 seed AT LEAST. |

at the very least man...my other concern is dwight howard -- he just isn't the same defender he was before his surgery. how long is it going to take him to be 100%? will he ever? |

& this is a bold prediction, but it will likely happen, within 3-4 years howard is coming off someones bench. nigga has 0 basketball skills the only way he gets around the league is by having incredible athleticism but once that gone? what do you have? a nigga that fucking can't make a free throw or post up to save his life, i really hope the lakers do resign him. |

golden state plays in oakland. but i agree d'antoni is turning out to be an awful hire for this roster. if the lakers go 5-5 in their next 10 games he'll be fired too Edited by connybear, Jan 5 2013, 02:36 PM.

Not surprised. 31% and our two best current players went 8-36. Couple that with no Granger/Hill, we wouldn't have beaten some college teams last night with that kind of performance. Not to mention the Celtics shot out of their minds in the 2nd/3rd quarters, no surprise the game was blown open as quickly as it was. No comment on the officiating. No wonder you don't watch the NBA anymore, Heinsohn on the Celtics commentary is the biggest idiot/homer ever haha. Foul on the Celtics -> "They're calling phantom fouls now". No foul called on the Pacers -> "He got a little push from *insert other team here player*. I don't know how his partner can sit there the whole game and listen much less talk with that. Figured you would comment on beating the Pacers without two of their best players. niceee |

I love Kobe, but the Lakers won't come close to a title until after he is gone. He's not going to change his game and he simply has lost some of the athleticism that helped make him so dominant. Watch Kobe highlights from like '99-'08ish and compare them to Kobe the last year or so. The addition of Nash has not made this any easier, Kobe takes the same number of shots with the same level of difficulty regardless of whether or not Nash is on the floor. Don't complain about Howard, he's doing the same things that he did in Orlando. He was never going to be a dominant offensive player that you could dump it into the post and have him get you 20-30 a night. His impact was always going to be about 15-20 points 13-15 rebounds and a few blocks to go with simply clogging the paint and causing kickouts and altered shots. I'm sure the Lakers were/are aware of the problems that Gasol has because of Howard being there, hence why they tried to trade him in the offseason and are probably trying to trade him now. Problem: No one wants to pay him 20 million dollars for the next 2 or 3 years to be an above-average but soft 4. 20 million dollars for 12-8. And people are complaining about Hibbert being overpaid at 14 mill/year when he averages 10-9, but offers outstanding defense. It's tough to really say with a straight face because Bynum has played ZERO games this year, but I still think they would have been better off with Bynum than Howard. Bynum is still a force on defense while having a much more polished offensive game and not being a huge liability like Howard is at the line. Right now, no one on the Lakers fits the number 2 scorer role so no one takes the pressure off Kobe/feeds off the attention that Kobe gets. And then when somebody steps up whether it be off the bench or MWP, multiple people like Gasol/MWP/etc. just disappear. They'll make the playoffs and have a puncher's chance if they can hang around because of Kobe/Dwight but probably a first round exit until further changes are made. |

How can you say Kobe is the reason they aren't winning? If anything Kobe is the reason they have won a handful of games. Sure you can argue that the Lakers need to change their game but let's be honest aside from MWP, Kobe is the only multifaceted talent on the lakers. Nash is purely an assist man, no defense, bring nothing else to the table really. Dwight should be a defensive force but is recovering from injury, we all know he isn't an offfensive threat besides catching low post and dunking. Pau can shoot jumpers and has spotty defense but as previously stated is softer than a marshmallow and inconsistent at long stretches of time, mainly benefits from the low post or elbow. They need to trade Pau and get fucking Amare Stoudemire or something. (Wishful thinking) |

Where did I say that? Hint: I didn't I said they won't win a championship with him at this point in his career and in L.A., its championship or bust. He just doesn't fit well with Nash. Virtually none of Kobe's points come on spot up jump shots or plays where he is set up by someone else. There's no denying that he can get you a bucket when you need one, which is a huge asset in this league, but he does nothing to make the players around him better at this point in his career. (See 99-10, he was MUCH better at drawing defenders and feeding team mates for easy buckets) With the amount of time that he dominates the ball coupled with the fact that he rarely sets up team mates anymore, it's nearly impossible for anyone else to get in a rhythm. It's no coincidence that the team has gone on nice runs when Kobe is on the bench and allows MWP and co. to get going a bit. Also, Amare won't help at this point. His game has been reduced to mid-range jump shots and nothing else. He will provide the same poor defense that Gasol brings and the same ridiculous contract. Simply unloading Gasol for a combination of washing machines, vending machines, and basketballs would be better than Stoudemire. |

Unless I misunderstood this sounds like you are saying the Lakers won't even get close to a championship as long as Kobe plays. Therefore, if I'm not reaching, you're saying Kobe is the reason they won't win/aren't winning. I may be wrong. Please enlighten me. |
