That's my favorite spot on heh too. Around 2:30 u need pistol ammo. I prolly would have dropped up on the blocks to the ammo instead of going up the ramp since those niggas were red and could have (and did) nade you easily. Don't think you were pistoling well (looked average) but you put yourself in position to easily get kills throughout the game which more than makes up for dat. Hard to find any other critiques as the people you were playing seemed like they didn't know how to play that map |

fun watch, well played but I disagreed with a few things (going from graveyard to trench random spawn instead of pistol ammo top spawn, etc.) spawn info 4 n00bs: http://atrophy.oxy2.net/goodtimes/oldstuff/hangem.jpg |

I mentioned that that might have been a better idea. I think it turned out tho (without my knowing) that the other enemy was already on top blue, so that might have been dangerous.
That's what I was trying to demonstrate. Even if you don't shoot very well its still possible for everything to work out mostly fine, if you play right. I was really hoping to demonstrate how important spawns and random spawning is on a map on HeH, because I did it so many times that game, just having my teammate virtually spawn behind the enemy or in a direct crossfire position. |

get owned, gambit. heh is the worst map to play with wireless. -_- that map sucks. was a different story with a map that doesn't require timing pups and hiding. -_- fun games. |

i like the random spawn idea when your position is neutral or at a disadvantage. even though it worked both times when you did it on blue i personally would not have done that; probably would have just kept your teammate up there where it's for the most part safe i mean the goal is to control top and invis... invis being the most important. even with red and invis it is real easy to get back blue or to just hold with good teamwork and crossfire. good vid tho flare... i liked it when u uploaded every single match and scrim you played. shows you're not afraid of the criticism and how much you just like playing halo |

Good story man :) .
Its safe to keep your teamate top, there's nothing wrong with that. I just think its usually better to spawn your teamate randomly elsewhere. He might spawn up top anyways, or he might spawn right at invis, or sometimes as demonstrated he'll spawn right behind them. Even if he gets the worst spawn, something like red shotty (with them at red), he's still pretty safe if he goes to the base of the tower and i'm still alive to cover him. My likelihood of reaming alive also increases as i go for the randomspawn, since my shields were down and going to the back wall gives them time to recharge. Its also not just about getting your teamate a good spawn location, but also making it so that the enemy doesn't know where your teamate is. If my teamate spawned at invis, he could cause some confusion and doubt by hiding/holding at invis for a while (especially if he grabs invis). Also, if I spawned my teamate blue, smart players could probably prenade or at least preshoot the spawn point. At least in TWL 10 second spawn that's true. Ive prenaded people like that afew times, but often you can even kill a guy on spawn if you and your teamate are specifically anticipating/watching the spawn.
Yea, especially if you're not losing. If your situation is neutral, just wait until you get some advantage (such as a good random spawn) until you try to press specifically for the kill. If you're losing you might want to play a little riskier. Similar advice is touted in Starcraft 2: 'if you're ahead, get more ahead'.
It might be cool to see a simultaneous commentary from two opposing player's perspective. There was a sweet video atrophy made of me and him playing vs eachother (CE) in a 2v2, showing both perspectives at the same time in two screens. (hopefully he can repost if he has that vid :) ) Edited by imnotflare, Oct 5 2011, 09:23 PM.
