honestly i had no idea that there was a private admin section to the forums... and honestly i'm going to have to agree with Sam here on this topic. Fact is... this isn't some government job where information needs to be behind closed doors. for fucks sake this is a video game forum. If there are ideas that are floating around they should be made public; the fact that a select few have admin rights doesn't actually mean they're more qualified or have expertise in the game, so why should they have their own forum? it's no different than chatting on xfire except that you can do it on this forum with that sense of secrecy. it's interesting how people react when they're given higher power/authority over others... can't imagine how it's like in the real world. and Sam just b/c i agree with you doesn't necessarily mean you should do it... try to fight that impulse to make immediate actions; put some thought into it and get feedback from everyone in the community not just the admins. |

I think you might have misunderstood the point so let me clarify. Some of the things recently discussed in that section included but were not limited to: Phantom shooting and what to do about it The Hispanics pointpushing and appropriate punishments to take so that it does not happen again, but at the same time does not make the league less active Discuss admin actions recently committed that other admins might disagree with Unbanning voodoo Locking the league with the pros and cons of that action Possible ways to counter people ddosing servers/vents Playoffs/prizes and ideas for making those work After these things have been discussed we bring them to the league. The league in general does not need to be actively involved in such things and if they have any questions or concerns no one has stopped them from asking. These questions and concerns are brought up in the admin section where we discuss ways to solve them before either taking action or if necessary, seeing what the community thinks. It's not about a power trip or whatever you seem to be insinuating. If that were the case, Baddy and I would be making decisions in a way that selfishly benefits us and not the league. Up to this point I think most people can agree that we have been fair, open, and honest with the community. Having a venue where we can discuss things in private before consulting the league (if necessary) just plain makes sense. The community has no business being involved in decisions on actions to be taken against warriors that break rules, policies, or disrupt the integrity (lol) of the league. I do need help, but from members who understand my goals and will work toward them in a friendly professional manner.  hpt-10 league business can be discussed in front of everyone or on xfire , PMs. The 2 faced manner in which the recent admin clique conducted themselves is not acceptable and i suspect why so many former members are conspicuously absent. |

i'm so tempted to shove ron paul references in here.... just 1, plz: @bamboo, why does the government have to be secretive about anything? the only entity I can respect for maintaining security and discretion is the private industry. Governments should not hide anything from their citizens - neither should hpt admins, for sake of argument. Common counter-arguments: for "national security" purposes - other than the fact that the government doesn't have the balls to admit its mistakes, there is no other reason to hide information about assasinations etc... The government is scared of public outcry because of uncertainty in public reaction (occupy wallstreet x1000), so they use national security as a pathetic excuse to bypass laws - these are standard scare tactics that have been employed for decades now. The only reason NDAA was even looked-at, is because of the ridiculous amount of conspiracies surrounding 9/11.
