Flux is good but not fully effective. Blue spectrum light stimulates wakefulness. The absence of blue light allows sleepiness to come on. Blue light is included in regular 'white' light, typical minotaurs, and typical TVs, etc. I've tested flux with a spectrometer and it does not fully remove blue spectrum light. An hour or two before you want to go to sleep, go into your monitors color settings: remove all the blue light, remove most the green light, and leave the red light on. Also turn off all other lights but your monitor, including blocking any light leakage in from outside. The only acceptable lighting is specifically designed red lights, or a fire. There are also monitor covers you can buy that will block out blue-light. With this, you will naturally become sleepy, despite continuing to browse the internet or whatever. Whereas, if you stare at typically colored screens like a computer or TV, your brain will remain fully stimulated, and you may often have trouble going to sleep. If its possible to automate this (the proper way), I plan on making a program for it eventually. |
