That is an awesome photograph. An early guess was Boston, because of the combination of high-rise buildings and what looks like neo-Classical architecture. I'll think about it some more. Okay, it seems Boston doesn't have that many tall buildings clustered together---and those buildings down below must be as old as they look. Also the apartments or condos along the river look more like what you'd see in Europe. |

Here's what we know: -It is a large city with a distinctive clustering of high-rise office buildings -It is by a large bay or even on the coast! -A small canal or river coarses along downtown, with a distinctive U shape The largest city in Italy is Rome, with 2.7 M people. Milan, at 1.3 M, is landlocked, and already at the foothills of the Alps. All the other coastal Italian cities have less than one million people, and no Italian city that I know of is a booming business center. Also, downtown Rome is too far inland, as you can see here. Wahzoo, please don't ruin our fun by giving it away early. This is very interesting detective work! Portugal: The largest city is Lisboa, with 500,000 people. It is spread out, and very low-lying. Scratch this one. The city looks almost North American, but there are a few points I need to look up first. |

Well, that could be saying a lot about you or Prof rather than just me. In any case, that construction is designed to say, "You're not funny, but this once you were. My most reserved, reluctant congratulations; yet now I must endure more of this drollery." My purpose, if you hadn't noticed, is not to to entertain you or anyone else. I'm glad you found that funny; it was appropriate and I happened to be here to make the joke. That's all. I hope you don't read TOO MUCH, and EXPECT TOO MUCH of my random posts of silly, slapped together image macros and such. You hardly know me, and you don't know the way I think: therefore, I hardly expect you to share in the humor I know certain players appreciate. |
