Round 1 - East
Bulls vs Sixers = Bulls in 5. I think they'll drop a game with Rose out.
Celtics vs Hawks = Not predicting because I haven't taken the time to watch this Hawks team all year.
Pacers vs Magic= Pacers in 5. I've only gotten to catch the Dwight-less Magic team play today in the 4th though, so maybe they can force a 6th game.
Heat vs Knicks= Heat in 4. The Knicks and their fans are jokes.

Round 1 - West
Spurs vs Jazz = Spurs in 4
Grizzlies vs Clippers = I want to say Clippers in 6 because they match up well with the Grizzlies strengths, but this really hinges on Gazebo's performances. Both have had a rough month with Gasol playing poorly and Zbo coming off injury.
Lakers vs Nuggets = LA in 4
OKC vs Mavs = the homer in me says OKC in 5, but can very very easily see this going 6 or 7 games with OKC prevailing.

my dream playoff run might happen if OKC, LAL, and the Spurs all advance. OKC playing the Mavs, Lakers, and Spurs in one playoff run would be sweet. A true changing of the guard.

Yeah it's just disappointing Rose had to go and tear his ACL like that. I really thought with him in their lineup, they were the team to beat in the East (not the Heat), but who knows now. They've proven they can play without Rose, but playoffs are so much different than regular season.

What do you have to base that argument on? (The Bulls being the team to beat and not the Heat) Last season, the Bulls trained the Heat in the regular season before the Heat flipped the switch on them in the playoffs. (Hell you even mentioned this in the last half of your post after using the regular season to defend the Bulls being the team to beat in the playoffs.)

Pacers laid an egg today. Got too excited when they realized that they only have to beat the Heat before getting a cakewalk in the ECF. :] And im only kind of joking..

Well there were a few things that made me think the Bulls were the superior team (with Rose)

First is the superior season record despite Rose missing 27 or so games. In a shortened season this was a huge blow, but despite this the Bulls still finished with a superior regular season record to the Heat. Of course records don't equal championships (Phoenix I'm looking at you) so we move on to the next stat I think is defining of a championship caliber team.

Oh yea and the Bulls/Heat split regular season 2-2 (also Rose didn't play in half of those games, and they went 1-1 without him)

It annoys me that a man with talent like Lebron James feels the need to flop in order to get easy points.

Also NBA refs are trash.

Lebron sets the very same screen on John Lucas and there's no call. It happens to Lebron and it's a flagrant 2 (turned into a flagrant 1 on review)? Lmao

nba refs are either really dumb or they're cheating

doesn't help that players have zero sportsmanship flopping all the time, ruining the game for the fans. i mean it seems there were fouls called on almost every possession and that's somewhat the fault on the players not just the refs. players need to put some effort in learning how to play defense under the current set of rules. and refs seriously need to open their eyes (if they're not cheating); a lot of these refs are fucking old as shit. they just need to be let go and get some younger people in there.

i think you've forgotten that the bulls also have hamilton who is a highly underrated point guard, as well as some good bench players. not to mention luol deng is great as well as kyle korver. bulls will do fine against the 76ers without d rose, rose has missed a bunch of games this season and the bulls have done great without him. look at their record

The Heat defense is right there as well. You've acknowledged that the Bulls defense is their strong point, but you believe that they are a much better team than the Heat because they won more than the Heat even without having Rose? 1) Watson and Lucas and many others played really well when Rose was out and 2) you said it, the Bulls defense won most of those games, hell they held ORL to 57 points. Taking Rose out or putting him back in doesnt change their team defense, in fact it probably makes their offense more fluid because they dont have a guy who can go ISO when Rose is out.

and I still think that you're missing the overall idea behind being "the team to beat". I dont think it means what you think it means. You are the team to beat until you are beaten and the Heat earned that when they trained the Bulls and Celtics last year in the playoffs. The Heat own the East until someone knocks them off that throne in the playoffs. End of story.

In a 7 game series I just don't see Miami keeping up with OKC's perimeter offense.

OKC to win it.
