Carbon copy of the first two meetings this year. Heat played well and we played horribly. We've been a completely different team these last 72 minutes. and btw, Haslem and Pittman are scumbags. This series has shown everyone who fickle the Heat are mentally. Taking cheap shots at players on a lesser team. Having players go at West's knees, Pittman with an elbow to Lance's throat going full speed, Wade tackling Collison, and LeBron sliding under Granger after throwing elbows at him the whole series. When they beat Boston, OKC or the Spurs will set em up and knock them down. Edited by Paul George, May 22 2012, 11:08 PM.

Wade. Amazing. No one is touching that team when Wade and LeBron are on like they were in 4 and 6. |

i was really surprised that the pacers were in a position to actually win the series. cant wait to see what you guys do next year if yall can nab eric gordon. that'd be a really good starting 5: hill, gordon, george (at the 3), west, and hibbert (hopefully playing over 30 min a night). if he can stay healthy, that is. |

ehh... 1) He's a restricted FA. 2) He's injury-prone. I'm confident that he won't be a Pacer next season. I'd love to have him paired with George, but it won't happen. We would have to overpay to get him away from NOLA and combine that with his injury history, and that's how bad contracts happen. You would also have to move Granger who is the only thing the Pacers have that resembles a leader and Bird won't trade him away unless he gets blown away by an offer. I'm not a huge fan of him, but he's been with the Pacers since the beginning of their rebuilding and never complained. Even if we did somehow get Gordon for a reasonable price, you're putting an awful lot up in the air when expecting him to stay healthy and Paul George to really elevate his game instead of flashes and streaks. From about the 40-50 game mark, George faded and never got it back and it probably cost us the series. If he can develop more moves on offense or simply improve his handles while simply being more aggressive on offense, he could be a 20ppg scorer next season. We could bring back the same team except for guys like Barbosa and adding maybe an athletic 4 through the draft and/or an athletic wing for the bench and my expectations will still be to win the Central and be the 2nd or 3rd team in the East and I would be fine with that. Chances are we are not getting Deron Williams or Eric Gordon because one simply won't come here no matter what we offer and the other will cost too much to be worth the risk/price. Anything less than that is a huge disappointment because we have no weak positions when our guys play like they are capable of playing. (Some teams have starters that you know what you're getting out of them, we have a bunch of guys who could go off on any night, but lack consistency most of the time. Sometimes Hill goes for 20+, sometimes George, DWest, or Hibbert goes off, but then at the same time they have games where they are nonfactors) The Bulls will be without Rose and when he does come back, it will be another year before he regains his explosiveness and who is to say if he will EVER get back his confidence in cutting on that knee. The Celtics will for sure be done. The Heat will be the same except for Wade will have another year on his legs, but I think if they win the ship this year, they will be even better next year. It all hinges on Hibbert and George for us really, improving some more and developing consistency. |

I was also pretty disappointed with George. Maybe my expectations were too high though. Pacers are just one elite PG away from competing seriously. |

Ummm...probably not. Especially if the West finals go 7 games. The Heat would probably finish in 5 or 6 games and have ample time to rest while the winner of the West will have just gone through at worst the 3rd best team in the league. |

lol You can argue all you want about "rest" and bullshit, but the truth is these guys train professionally to play fucking basketball. 7 game series or not (which is yet to be decided), either team will play at their fullest. Didn't the older lakers and celtics do the same? When you want to win, that shit don't matter. Especially for a really young team like OKC. The Spurs just do everything well and seem to just know how to control the pace of the game well. The Heat do well in their element, when Lebron and Wade are out there running the floor making sweet passes in transition off broken plays or errors from the other team. The Spurs aren't ones to give up a lot of free points going the other way and play very fundamental basketball. If the Heat don't get Bosh back they are in tremendous trouble, especially down low. |

Haha Not entirely my point. The West Final is essentially the NBA Final in that it contains the two best teams atm. Each team knows that and the winner will have to be very tough mentally as well as physically to transition from an extremely tough series to another tough series against a slightly lesser team. Countless times in the past, a team has beaten a great team, only to lose to an inferior one in the next round, regardless of whether its the final or the quarterfinal. And seriously, the only way to beat the Heat is by wearing them (Wade and LeBron) down. Any extra rest they get will only help them. The conf finals and the nba finals will also be really close together and each series will go at least 6 games barring a major injury or something of that nature. If you dont have the legs, it doesnt matter if you want to win. Especially in basketball, where having no legs will cripple you in all aspects. The Thunder and Spurs are both better than the Heat, but they are not THAT much better to where they can wail on each other for 7 games and then turn around and battle LeBron and Wade for 6-7 right after that and still be the favorite. Bosh will be back by then too. He was out for the semis, questionable to start the ecf, and highly likely to be back in time for the finals. Of course the Heat are at their best in the open court, but the semis, they showed that when they get it going in the halfcourt, there is nothing you can do to stop them. The Spurs have absolutely no one that can handle LeBron or Wade and you can make a case that Duncan will struggle mightily to keep up with Bosh. You're putting a lot on Tony Parker if you expect him to dominate Chalmers so badly that he makes up for the advantage LeBron, Wade, and Bosh have other Ginobili, Green/Leonard, and Duncan. (Really if Paul George couldnt contain Wade, how the hell is Ginobili going to defend Wade?) If I'm the heat, I want the Spurs to beat OKC because with OKC, the Heat will struggle to match up with Westbrook, Harden, Durant, and Ibaka but they have the clear advantage over the Spurs. I'm still scratching my head at the beginning of your post. No, the celtics and lakers did not do the same. This playoffs has been more condensed than any playoff recently and neither team had a grueling 7 game series against a top 3 team immediately prior to the finals. Basketball is not like football. Will power can only take you so far in basketball. If you have dead legs against Wade and LeBron, you are in trouble. |

Regardless of what happens in the west, it would be really funny if Lebron lost again and went 0-3. He'd probably go crazy if that happened, especially if it's against the Spurs again. It's also sad to think about Rose. Has anyone ever fully recovered from a torn acl? |
