weapons are mostly the same from what i've seen on videos. of course the maps will be different. but what could they have changed with the movement? other than speed and jump distance or something which aren't big deals.. |

strafe jumping in place of teleport guns no flak cannon or anything similar to it, no ripper, no pulse rifleor shock rifle or w/e its called with the ball combo, no double or triple rockets, no bio rifle, no sniper rifle pretty much none of the same guns. Edited by dephex, Jan 5 2013, 07:29 AM.

both guns i saw you use(mini gun and plasma chain gun or whatever), then you jumped on a weap that looked like a rocket launcher. tele guns, ripper, bio rifle and multi rockets sucked balls anyway. only basing it on what i see in vids and people pretty much use guns that were in ut99. just sayin. honestly i'd say i see more change from each cod game, which isn't much. |

the lightning gun in quake live doesnt have a cousin in ut99, and the machine gun is more like the enforcers from ut99, except its full auto all the time. the grenade launcher, rocket launcher, rail gun, and lightning gun were the guns i used, and there are not any guns like them in ut99, except the primary fire of the rocket launcher. thats it. |

quakelive is based on quake 3 which came out before ut99, i believe. qw, q2, q3, and q4 are all quite different, but ql is basically q3 in a browser with some minor changes. |

pretty sure when i saw and heard Quake CTF multiplayer for the first time in 1996 or 7, it changed what i could think of as entertainment. I had played video games before, but not like that. not sure if they've ever improved upon quake ii tbh. i liked quake iv better than quake iii, though obviously no one else did, possible because it was harder to run at the time. Then quake live happened. Which is sure fun enough. Dogja hits up quake live in vent. i should too. |

i wish more people played quake live. nowadays everyone wants kills handed to them so they play things like black ops :( nice settings but there seems to be an awful lot of motion blur no? |

yea, i made a post on a different forum about that. i have no idea why it happens, but it does it no matter what settings i use when i cut out video in wolfcam. i think i fucked up my capture settings. it also happens much worse on youtube than it does in the file ive got on my desktop. i attribute some of it to the fact that the video is rendered 60 fps and youtube doesnt support that. it's never been THAT bad though. i was unaware that quake 3 was older, i checked and it came out in 99 also, but yea, i thought all the quakes were released a year or two later than they actually were. so my bad on that. anyhoo, that lightning chain did have a relative in ut99 as some gun's secondary fire if i'm not mistaken. |

unreal actually came out a few days before quake 3.. like literally a few days. quakeworld has been around since 1996ish I think? people still play a little i believe, which is pretty cool. quake and ut are similar, but different enough imo. unreal engine and idtech engine are not the same. i played ut99 on ps2 but ive never played it on pc. i had fun playing online. sepulchre and facing worlds were neat maps. i liked the symmetry in the CTF maps. |
