Ok so calvin johnson led the league in targets and receptions yet stafford still had a terrible season. Clearly having one go to receiver does not result in having a good statistical season. Not sure what point you are trying to make there. It's also a lot easier to throw when you have one of the leagues top backs behind you who can break out for multiple yards at any given moment. Something that Luck did not have. RG3 is just another mike vick in the making. Blessed with amazing skills but injuries will forever plague him. Luck on the other hand will have a long career.
luck had a good year in passing yards but he didnt have a very efficient year overall, 23 TDs and 18 INTs, RG3 was much more efficient overall, 20 TDs and 5 ints and a better total QBR than luck (71.6(?) to 67.something)

the colts didnt have much of a run game but better receivers = more yardage, as explained both t.y. hilton and reggie wayne are light years better than anyone on the redskins receiving core

i dont understand how you can really argue for either offensive line, neither were impressive lol

you guys still arent factoring in the 800 yards that rg3 brought to the redskins rushing game

t.y. hilton is not light years ahead of anyone on the redskins lol...don't get ahead of yourself. Garcon is a good receiver as is fred davis. Unfortunately they both battled injuries during the season.

Edit: Once again those 800 yards are hard to take into account when you have one of the league's leading rushers in you're backfield. It's also hard to compare rg3 and luck in general because they are completely different types of Qb's in two different types of systems.

Let it be known I was never arguing over who should get rookie of the year. I actually said wilson was the most deserving of the three...I just feel Luck is the better out of those two Qb's. I just can't see Rg3 having a lasting career with his style of play.

Alfred Morris should get the award imo.

If we're including Kaepernick, I'd take

Lucky, Kaepernick , Wilson, Rg3

I mean you talk about being more athletic, but you know what? Is that a good thing? Vick was more athletic. Is Tom Brady? Dree Brees? Peyton Manning?

I want a big tall quarterback that can take a beating somewhat, start every game, and throw darts in the pocket. I want a smart QB (I think Rg3 is very smart, Luck is smarter).

Luck isn't "un-athletic" either.

rg3 was more efficient as a qb

all you see is his passing yards, if you look at total yardage if thats really a meaningful statistic, rg3 was only i think like 400 yards behind luck, including rushing

but as stated before rg3 was more EFFICIENT as a QB, not as a rusher, less mistakes with worse receivers

i already posted the statistics, less INTs, better QBR and a MUCH better completion percentage by like 10%

I mean you do realize RG3 had a runningback with over 1500 yards right? And that all he did was play action pass?

I don't think you are understanding this. Plus the 'skins receivers aren't that bad.

Luck threw over 4000 yards. Not all of that went to Wayne.

As far as exact numbers since that seems to be a big deal to you

RG3 finished with 3,200 passing yards, 815 rushing yards, 27 total touchdowns

Total yards: 4015

Luck set a rookie record with 4,374 passing yards, rushed for 255 yards and scored 28 total touchdowns.

Total Yards: 4629

Luck also had 7 game winning drives. He literally put that team on his back. Rg3 played with leads!!! The Redskins team as a whole was much better than the Colts.

Here put it this way, take away Rg3 from the skins and take away Luck from the Colts. Tell me who think would have a better season. I know the Colts won 2 games last year, they acquire Luck, win 11.

Give Luck a RB like Alfred Morris and he'd put up even crazier numbers.

That being said it's a moot point since RG3 won offensive rookie and Wilson won rookie of the year. Should have been Morris tbh.

Luck will last longer and be a better QB (already is)

Edit: caring about passer rating in the 1st year is kind of a bad point. Peyton manning's rookie year he had a similar passer rating/completion percentage as Luck.

I'm from Seattle and I think Russell Wilson's season was kind of a fluke. Even the Seattle offensive coach wasn't sure what Wilson was capable of, so of course the opposing defenses had no idea how to prepare for him. He's good, but I doubt he'll be a truly elite QB in this league.

This.

I see his second year taking a step not unlike cam newton's this year (not to that extent tho since seattle is a good team). Defenses need to figure out how to package their schemes against these guys and you'll see their 2nd season take a similiar dip like sam bradfords and cam newtons.

edit: also luck is pretty athletic himself

His numbers at the NFL Scouting Combine mirrored those of Panthers QB Cam Newton. Both ran the 40-yard dash in 4.59 seconds, and Luck jumped two inches higher (36) on the vertical leap and two inches shorter (124) on the broad jump.
