Your posts make so much sense that they are like translating a word scramble. Not sure why you're bashing the Lakers, a team that has more titles in the past decade even with the series of revolving doors around Kobe than "your" Spurs have during their "dynasty" if you're still dwelling in the past. In another year or so, the Spurs are going to be even worse than the 12-13 Lakers when Duncan, Ginobili, and Parker all really slow down. (Inb4: critics have been saying that for years!!!!...The Grizzlies and Thunder beg to differ) And sure I can look forward to the offseason as a Pacer fan, and the next season, the season after that, and so on because the Pacers don't have an aging core that has been on the decline for the past couple seasons. In fact, it is just the opposite. And we also are in a much better position than the Spurs to advance to the conference finals so I'll take that as well. Have fun trying to steal one in Oracle when you barely escaped dropped both games at AT&T and have only won 3 road games all season vs. WC teams with winning records. Before you hit me with the "how many championships do the Pacers have?" again, I'll stop you. "Your" Cowboys have 5 championships, and it doesnt change the fact they blow right now and have blown for the past few years. |

> implying the Spurs will not get any good rookies > implying popovich will not get any free agents > implying spurs will rely on Duncan / Ginobli for the next 30 years. Spurs have had like 3 Finals Championships and I believe the Lakers have 1 more in the 21th Century, big deal. Using your logic con, if the Warriors somehow beat the Spurs, then they would have destroyed the Lakers if they had played him in round 1. |

Didn't imply any of that. And con didn't imply that either. Last I checked, San Antonio is not a hot bed for free agents, neither is Indiana obviously but we won't be rebuilding a core. Considering the money that SA has locked up as well, you won't have enough to attract any premier free agents to join a rebuilding effort. Outside of Leonard, the Spurs have no good assets to package for trades either. As far as rookies, unless you guys really go under for a couple years, you guys won't get any real quality starters much less core players outside of the top 10 to maybe 15 unless you get extremely lucky. And the Lakers have 5 titles since the beginning of 2000. You should really just let that argument die. The decline sucks, but its ok for you because you love living in the past. |

Spurs have 4 titles since 1999 implying you don't be a bitch and disinclude 1 year off. No one is living in the past, you make it seem as if Spurs will never pick up a decent player again. You day all you want about garbage " core " team you guys have, you are missing 1 thing every team needs to be a championship caliber team, a superstar.. Parker is only 30 and im sure will play at a top level until he's around 34. But who cares about the future, what matters is what's RIGHT NOW |

Aqua just keep reposting the video of Derek Fisher's game winner for this guy. The Spurs are a successful franchise but you just can't compare them with the likes of the Lakers. Edited by Skyson, May 10 2013, 06:47 PM.

I never said they would never pick up a decent player again. I'm saying that it will be difficult for them to get back to the same competitive level that they have been at for so long. You have the Thunder, Warriors, Nuggets, Grizzlies, and assuming CP3 stays, the Clippers. Below those you have young teams that will get better through the draft, have plenty of cap space and by developing their young talent in Portland, Houston, and the Jazz. The Spurs have no young assets outside of Leonard, who is nothing more than a good glue guy like a Nic Batum. It will be tough to attract quality free agents to come to a small-market with no real title aspirations and pass up opportunities to team up with other good players on younger teams like Houston, Atlanta, etc. You will find that it's not easy to quickly build a contender, unless you're a playoff team already and you tank but that's another story. and Parker is not top level. He's good, but he's not even top 5 at his position and with guys like Lillard, Wall and Irving coming up fast, he might not even be top 10 during next season. Finally, I think you have completed your circular argument. You originally bring up the past successes of the Spurs and recent struggles of the irrelevant Pacers when I talk about the Warriors possibly beating the Spurs this year. Now you've changed your tune once again. But since you said that only the present matters, I'd rather have the Pacers' squad going forward than the Spurs' current team for the rest of this postseason and beyond. HCA vs a struggling Knicks team > no HCA vs a hot GSW team |

well done by the Spurs. No one on the Warriors could really get going (due to the defense of Green, Parker, Leonard, and co.) and someone always made a bucket at the opportune time. Warriors kept tripping over themselves as well with some missed opportunities. OT: I hate the Hack-a-whomever. I didn't like when OKC did it and it failed vs Asik and I don't like the Spurs doing it when it's working vs Bogut. Just not fun to watch (must be frustrating when it works against your team) |
