so i need to edit a video (just adding subtitles) for work, but my boss gave me the videos in mp4 format. i can see the video but hear no audio. i've tried searching for a solution on google but no luck yet. i've downloaded millions of codecs, used so many different media players and even tried converting it to another file. nothing seems to work. i also thought of just importing it to vegas and maybe from there i can at least watch the video with audio but before i can even import it, vegas crashes. it only does it when i am importing .mp4 files. fml what can i do? |

young gifted is suggesting you play the video on something that works, then record it into something you can work with, avi i guess? but you re saying you cant get it to play (audio) at all, on any player? vlc , etc. i know sony vegas can edit mp4... just one step above windows movie maker anyway. you re not on a shitty mac R U you sure the file even has audio? |

in the future, virtual dub usually plays anything that VLC wont, and is pretty well known for finding audio where other programs lose it. |
