I'm looking to build a new pc come holiday time (cyber monday/black friday). I'm looking to spend about $600 and I am so out of date on whats good nowadays and what is compatible with each other, that kind of stuff.

I saw the PC building thread already but I'd still like to build my own with some help.

Please help. You can reach me on here or on steam or xfire, mainly steam.

Thanks guys

if you could kick it up a notch to like $625 it would be totally worth it. A FX6300 and HD7950 are a good combo.

Edit: Changed RAM because old ram was in back order on NCIX

Gaming from time to time, streaming onto my hdtv, personal use - i want it to be good, and to last.

When you stream from PC to TV, do you hook it up from video card to TV or monitor to TV? To get your video/audio displaying on your TV

honestly i feel like $600 would be a waste of your time. 2x for more worthwhile.sys

http://www.ibuypower.com/info/Fall-Gaming-Sale.aspx

They have a $700 "Revolt" desktop. But I think probably closer to $2000 for a proper "Revolt" could be my next box for BF4. Although probably the next generation for me, if i choose to waste the time playing something like Elder Scroll Online or GTA V (PC)...

Remember Halo 5 or 6 PC, on Windows 9.lol

also stick with nvidia.

also invert why not just get an ultra book from dell if its more for media stuffs... it could still prob run halo just fine.

Ezra, I'm looking for a build that is going to be decent on gaming (not really my main concern - but can still play the newer games okay), can do personal projects on it, stream, stuff like that.

My budget is $600-700 and it needs to come with;

CPU
Motherboard
Memory
Storage (hard drive)
Video Card
Case
PSU
Operating System

Thats everything that I can think of that I will need to build it and start playing I think?

I'm looking for like a 23-24" monitor that is LED, Full HD 1080p ready, for a decent price ($0-200$)

if you plan on buying on black friday then everything I post is irrelevant because prices change so much. but if you were buying it now, then I made a few changes to Renekton's build above:

also, be careful for all these sites offering sales on the old 7990. although a really high end card, that was shitty and had frame spikes.

You can get them all day for 150.

In this economy it's dumber than shit to go buy a pc made witha ll brand new parts. You're going to waste a good 400 of it.

Youre not getting an i7 and a 660ti for 500 unless youre buying used or refurb parts which is a pretty stupid thing to do.

For 800 ordering from newegg and building myself I got a i5 3570k, 660ti, 8gb of crucial ballistix ram free with an asrock z77 extreme 4 mobo, 500gb hd, cooler master tower, 700watt ps, and cooler master v8gt cpu cooler. That was a pretty budget unit at the begining of summer. With sales on the card or cpu and maybe a good deal like i got on ram/mobo you can get that rig for 600 but even thats unlikely. Or you could buy one of the shitty manufacturers 660s but i wouldnt buy anything but evga or asus.

simply put, If i could talk to baddy over steam and help him build his computer successfully, any moron can do it. it doesn't matter how smart you think you are with computers, the fact is anyone who puts in 2 hours of research can get a great computer for a good price. it isn't hard, you aren't special.
