It certainly does, as does Las Vegas. But the average restaurant/cafe/supermarket food is terrible, especially considering the ridiculous prices. In NYC you can find good food that is not expensive pretty much anywhere. In Boston we have South End (trendy neighborhood, think Williamsburg but with more young couples and less hipsters) with its small restaurants that serve amazing, creative food and have menus of 10-20 items. Overall you can find good restaurants in any part of the city here but South End stands out. The biggest problem imo is that supermarket food is terrible everywhere in America, whereas in Germany and France especially it is of much higher quality.
