Hi Martin and welcome to the forum! I think we've talked about the idea of podcasts, but I'm not sure where we ended up with that topic. Everyone was up partying pretty late last night, so check back a little later today and I'm sure (once the hangovers have eased up a bit) someone more knowledgeable than I will be able to answer you. |

I have mentioned podcasts the the man in power, and he said that it could not be done because of the license. I have also suggested the idea of a local music podcast (no reply yet). I don't see any reason why a podcast can't be done with local music :) Check out the new Forum music player ;)) Hastings Rock Forum Music Player |

when i looked into making my own station 3 months ago i found out bevcause it was broadcast on the internet it is unregulated if the station owns the unridgional copy of the music then there is no reason why podcasts of shows cannot be made |

Unfortunately i do use some bands / artists who are 'signed', such as David Ford, Claire Hamill, Mumm Ra & Liane Carroll. This then raises exactly the same problem as with the 'normal' Hastings Rock shows. The issue of using music is a bit of a minefield & exactly the reason why Podcasts from BBC Radio etc don't contain much, if any music at all, it's all speech. I know most local bands would be happy for me to use their music in a podcast, but it would take a lot of time & effort to sort it all out & edit out what needed to be edited out. Sorry for not being more constructive, but that's the way the regulations force us to go. Believe me, i find it just as frustrating as the rest of you. We just can't afford to fall foul of the laws. Hastings Rock has to stay above board at all times to survive. I do have mp3's of the Local Music shows from this year & some from last year. So i might be able to let people have a copy, but it would have to be for strictly personal use only. I'll have a think about that. Cheers, Andy :headphone: |
