Just a quickie to say that we spent two weeks sorting out an item for a radio station down in the South West that prides itself on finding new & unsigned bands as well as a raft of classic rock new & old.

All I will say without naming and shaming is that Hastings Rock can hold their heads high about their standards. I listened to the broadcast for "yokel FM" tonight and their DJ littered it with "erm"s and "aahh"s and was clearly reading (awkwardly)from a piece a paper. He clipped the intro off one of the songs and twice got the bands name wrong in 4 minutes...quality... :'(

Hastings Rock...I salute you

As a listener to several different stations around the country (both internet and 'real'), I've been struck by how many have heard of Hastings Rock. Indeed, at least one has availed itself of Andy Bantock's studio building services. The standard of broadcaster varies between outstanding and downright amateurish. Admittedly, the poorer ones tend to be on the 'community' stations, but credit for having a go. If it was ever viable for H.R. to become full time in such a way as to not dilute the current quality and content, I've no doubt that H.R. would quickly become a heavily listened to station. Several contacts have already asked when H.R. is back on air, as they are so poorly served in their own areas. Who'd of thought that a 2 hour rock show on an RSL 16 years ago would have spawned such a well-respected station. :headphone:
