I don't have a definite date yet, but Jon Bird has suggested that as in previous years, we will be having a weekend of test streaming on 'tinterweb thingy real soon. During the test weekend he will be testing out the "request by text" facility, but of course it will be by EMAIL instead! As soon as I have a date I will let yas all know- and give full details of how to get the stream for those who haven't tried before :hat:

Due to limitations of bandwidth there is a ceiling to the number of listeners allowed at any one time, so PM me for full details and I'll get back to you. I was looking in to this last year. There is a way to do it that everybody who listens also contributes as a server and shares their bandwidth so the listeners in theory could be limitless. A type of peer to peer application.

Radio Caroline and European Klassik rock(and others) use these streams alongside their normal streams. They work really well, and they claim it allows 'unlimited' streaming. When they're extremely busy, you can experience buffering, but doesn't seem to be a major problem. Looking forward to this!!! :headphone:

Particularly enjoyed trying out the e-mail request option :headphone: It'd be interesting to know whether (a) the test was deemed a success, and (b) if the exercise will be attempted again at some point.
