Welcome to The New term. this term we will be studying some of the darker magical creatures I hope you all enjoy the lesson's i have prepared for you this term. I'm starting it off this term with the Acromantula, Please remember to answer all your homework questions in full sentences. Let's begin!
:) M.O.M: XXXXX The acromantula is a gigantic, eight-eyed spider with a legspan, which can reach 15 feet high. They're covered in thick black hair, theyll make a distinctive clicking sounds with their giant pinchers when excited or angry, and they have a poisonous bite. They are capable of human speech, and despite its near-human intelligence, the Acromantula is untrainable and highly dangerous to wizard and Muggle alike. Therefore they are classified as a beast due to their violent tendecies and the fact that they are carnivorous, and prefers to eat large prey (including humans who stray across their path so beware) The Acromantula is native to Borneo where they live in a dense jungle. They're believed to have been a wizard-bred species, possibly intended to guard a wizard dwelling or treasure, as is often the case with magically created monsters. The Acromantula fears basilisks above all other creatures. (All spiders fear the basilisk, not only the acromantula) They'll spin dome-shaped webs upon the ground. The female Acromantula which is bigger than the male, and may lay up to 100 eggs at a time. The eggs are soft and white and as large as beach balls. The eggs hatch in 6-8 weeks. The eggs are defined as Class A Non-tradable goods, by the department for the regulation and control of Magical Creatures, meaning that there's a severe penalty attached to their importation or sale. Homework (total of 20 points, 4 each): 1.) Give me a detailed description of the Acromantula. 2.) What does it mean that the eggs are 'Class A Non-tradable goods'? 3.) Where is the Acromantula Native to? 4.) How is it believed that the Acromantula came into existance? 5.) Which is bigger the Male or the Female? |

Spellbook Gryffindor Great Job!! 19 Points to Gryffindor!!! 1. An eight eyed, gigantic spider whose legs can reach up to 15 feet high. They are black and hairy and making clicking noises to communicate different moods or commands. They are highly venomous creatures, with near human intelligence. Some are able to use human speech. 2. There is a penalty to anyone who imports or sells them. 3. Native to the dense jungles of Borneo 4. It was said that the Acromantula had been a wizard species bred to gaurd a wizards dwelling or treasure. 5. The female is larger then the male. Probably because she lays up to 100 eggs. It is the same with I believe all spider species, that the female is always larger then the male. |
