I've included a small squad of Gue'vesa for fluff reasons on my newly re-incarnated Tau list. For slightly more expensive than my Kroot squad, I've got 8 models running around with EMP grenades, in theory they should be able to kill something worth their points. But has anyone tried using Gue'vesa before and how did it work out? |

I would spend...actually I did spend the extra 6 points to get the pulse rifle for mu Gue'vesa. Help them in a fight. |

Hmm, but 7 guys with really awesome guns, or 12 guys with massed flashlights? (Pulling a Dakka here..) Firewarrior 1/2 x 2/3 x 1/3= 1/9 (To hit x to wound x enemy failed armour save) 1/9 x 7 = 7/9 Marines dead per turn (Rapid fire) 1/9 x 14= 1 5/9 Marines dead per turn Guardsmen 1/2 x 1/3 x 1/3 =1/18 1/18 x 12= 2/3 Marines dead per turn 1/18 x 24= 1 1/3 Marines per turn Interesting (I hadn't actually done this before). So shooting-wise, the firewarriors destroy the Gue'vesa, but what if you're not using the gue'vesa as another shooting squad...maybe some reinforcements for your kroot as they're getting assulted in cover or some last ditch anti-tank when your railguns roll 1's... (I realize that human auxillaries aren't the best stat lines out there, but I really like them for fluff reasons). |

well, if you want a lot of cheap markerlights, and you have cover, gue;vesa are the way to go. You don't buy them because of their fire power, you buy them because you guve them EMP grenades, or you want a 36 point coring unit. All units can do basic things, and they're equipment is the same as anyone else's so use them as a tank hunter or markerlight giver, not someone to kill infantry. It doesn't work like that. P.S. this really should be in my boards. |
