Exo 4:2 And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.
Exo 4:3 And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it.
Exo 4:4 And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand:

Moses is a type of Christ. The rod is the word of God. The ground is us. The serpent is Satan.

Christ has Satan by the tail. He is tethered. He can only do what God has pre ordained. Satan is but a tool in Gods hand.

Hi Dave

i have no particular revelation to share but i felt i could recommend an approach to studying these or any other verses

that is to highlight the spiritual symbols in the verses and look for them in other verses in the scriptures

1Co 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

with that in mind

Exo 4:2 And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.
Exo 4:3 And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it.
Exo 4:4 And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand:

for example in verse 3 we read "Cast it on the ground"

where in the bible does the symbol of casting down appear (e-sword is a megablessing) here's an example

Rev 18:21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.

{oh i just love that verse}

also from verse 3 we read "Moses fled from before it. "

where else do we read in scripture about fleeing

Mat 10:23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.

in verse 4 we read "and take it by the tail. "

what do other scriptures say about this tail because remember no scripture is it's own interpretation you need other verses that in the mouth of two or three witnesses EVERY WORD may be established

Deu 28:13 And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:

Deu 28:43 The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low.
Deu 28:44 He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.

so if the Lord wants us to know something we'll know it, but i think in my experience it is God who has a perfect schedule for our spiritual growth into His Son

if God isn't willing for me to apprehend something yet then try as i might i will not apprehend (though the trying and desire is also of Him) but when God has got me to a place that i am ready then i cannot avoid revelation even as His Son is formed in me.

Eph 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:

Col 2:3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Col 2:4 And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.

but as for me, like you i hunger and thirst

Mat 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Luk 11:10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

if God be for us who can be against us

the biggest obstacle is self

and Christ has seen to it that our old self may die daily

being crucified with christ nevertheless we live yet no longer i but christ is being formed within me

Gal 4:19 My children, for whom I again travail until Christ should be formed to you,

Col 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

Psa 51:6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.

1Co 2:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
1Co 2:8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

#####################################

1Co 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

it is as we die daily that we are renewed in knowledge

Psa 37:25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

Christ in us the hope of glory!!!!!

Mat 28:9 And as they were going to report to His disciples, that behold, Jesus met them, saying, "Rejoice!" So they came and held His feet and worshipped Him.
Mat 28:10 Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go, report to My brothers that they should go to Galilee, and there they will see Me."
