Jason There are 3 Greek words translated in the new testament into the one word hell. They are.... G1067 γέεννα geenna gheh'-en-nah Of Hebrew origin ([H1516] and [H2011]); valley of (the son of) Hinnom; gehenna (or Ge-Hinnom), a valley of Jerusalem, used (figuratively) as a name for the place (or state) of everlasting punishment: - hell. G86 ᾅδης hadēs hah'-dace From G1 (as a negative particle) and G1492; properly unseen, that is, “Hades” or the place (state) of departed souls: - grave, hell. G5020 ταρταρόω tartaroō tar-tar-o'-o From Τάρταρος Tartaros̄ (the deepest abyss of Hades); to incarcerate in eternal torment: - cast down to hell. In the book of Revelation we read this.... Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. How can "hell" be cast into the lake of fire? The word hell in this verse means grave. So the grave is cast into the lake of fire. This fire is symbolic as with all symbols in the book of Revelation. Fire is a biblical symbol for purifying. Heb 12:29 For our God is a consuming fire. God is a consuming fire. He is the Almighty and is able to purify "all" who have ever lived. Not only is He able, but He is going to do it. And "is" doing it. And yes it is blasphemy to say God is going to toture His own children in a literal fire for all eternity with no purpose for it. We have all balsphemed God because He has determined that we live by every word that proceeds out of His mouth. Mat 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Rick |

sounds like my life with the refreshing times inbetween taken out  it's like that old steve miller band song you know you got to go through hell before you get to heaven but i mean it in this sense 1Pe 5:10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle you. Rev 15:8 And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled. fire is really only scary, physically, if you are made of wood or flesh, something combustible if you are being made complete in the Son of the Fire you become one with the Fire lets have a look at the detrimental effect of fire on these guys Dan 3:25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God. Joh 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. more verses that speak about fire 1Co 3:15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. Isa 43:2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. there where He says when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. He's got to be talking about Christ in me because as literal fire destroys literal wood so spiritual fire destroys spiritual wood and i catch on fire and am consumed away in flesh but made alive in the spirit. when fire heats the ore it brings the precious metals out and the scum rises to the surface and can be skimmed off and the useless waste products discarded or whatever
that teaching when viewed outwardly is like a part of the crown of thorns afflicting Christ in those in whom He is being perfected when viewed inwardly it is not so bad a burning that lasts my whole life time in the flesh, burning away the part of me that cannot enter the kingdom of heaven to make room for the part of me that was born to enter, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger it's just as the scriptures declare Act 2:26 Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope: Act 2:27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Act 2:28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance. if it applies to Him it applies to me and if it applies to me it applies to Him Rom 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Rom 8:36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Rom 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Rom 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. 1Pe 4:12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: 1Pe 4:13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. f rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. with exceeding joy. Heb 10:35 Therefore do not cast from you your confident hope, for it will receive a vast reward. Heb 10:36 For you stand in need of patient endurance, so that, as the result of having done the will of God, you may receive the promised blessing. Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind |
