JEAN MICHELLE JARRE, Oxygene 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8dqzTl0vUI What can I really say, other than the fact that this proves that you don't need a crappy PC program to really dish out proper synth music. What you need, amazingly, is a synth... 2. ELP, Hoedown http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0FuFfcCZiE A bloody amazing keyboard run from the synthesizer god that is Keith Emerson. It's not long, not too weird and not really that pretentious, just very skillfull, very electronic playing. 3. NEW ORDER, Blue Monday http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ts9r0QHuFHw What 80's music should have sounded like. Beats Bailey on his home ground and has a kick arse video to boot. 4. RADIOHEAD, Idioteque http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBsLFNcnwGM&feature=related Modern electronics from the Kid A album, combining jazz, rock and dance into a frantic, buzzing blast of energy. Fantastic stuff from a fantastic album. 5. PINK FLOYD, Any Colour You Like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yb5ZjmpmMbg Nice soloing from Rick Wright on Dark Side of the Moon's least renowned track, complete with a Hendrix-y guitar from Gilmour. 6. TANGERINE DREAM, Cyclone http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kzqg7K87GJU German pioneers Tangerine Dream in a length, space based wank-fest. Well, at least they have a stack of talent to back it up, and its pretty clever stuff. 7. RANDY GEORGE, Theme of Legend of Zelda Performed on Theremin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJYho56INKU. Bizzare. Amature. Better than Bailey. Period. 8.
