"Okay people. We want to market KFC as a family brand; quick, brainstorm things that are associated most with families. Go!"

"Giving your brother beatings"

"Not quite the right angle.."

"Eating sunday lunch together"

"Right, let's just bring out a fucking sunday lunch on our menu! You're sacked"

"What about doing chores?"

"n-holy shit YES! That's genius! You're re-hired!"

And so we come to an advert advertising something so simple you'd wonder how they could fuck it up. To advertise chicken in a bucket offers a wide variety of poultry-based jokes surely, none of which i can be arsed to think of. Instead, they take the angle of lazy lying children who won't do chores.

The advert features the mother shouting to her 3 kids in turn if they've "__ their __ yet" to which they reply "yeah" even though they haven't. First, the kids are about 12, isn't that a bit young to make them clean rabbit huts and wash cars? Fuck me, i hope they get paid for this shit.

It seems to be focused around the premise that "at least they'll clear their plates", a notion the voiceover specifically speaks. But..to be honest, that's a fucking terrible compromise! I see, so it's okay for your kids to do fuck all all day, lie to you about finishing their chores and be fucking gormy (i added that last one in myself) as long as they eat all of the fast food rubbish you buy them for one night? Obviously great parents there - i can see these being the types of parents who will say it's okay for their kids to stay out all night because "at least they ate their KFC before they went".

And wow, at the end they actually pick up the plates off the table! Mum looks astonished in gratitude, which says quite a lot about the amount these kids do. I personally think she ought to kick them to the fucking kerb, or at least make them start paying them board. Instead they will spend blissful years jumping on their beds, stroking rabbits and spraying dogs with hoses, all the while dining on KFC family buckets in the evening.

Lazy bastards.
