The three I'll list here happen to be video-game to movie conversions: Shadow of the Colossus http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/gamesblog/2009/apr/10/gameculture So far, I can only see one flaw with this. It will be written by the genius who wrote Street Fighter: Legend of Chun Li. And I have heard bad, bad things about that film. Next is the horror game, Bioshock. http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/08/bioshock-movie-in-development-gore-verbinski-directing/ It's to be directed by Gore Verbinski, of Pirates of the Caribbean fame. Well, it's either an underwater horror film or another film about blasted pirates. I think I'd opt for the former. And finally, probably the most amazing of the trio: The Legend of Spyro 3D. Oh yes, you heard that right. A film about a purple dragon. In full 3D. Films into games works, but the other way around always gets a bit silly. The plots just don't stand up too well. The only notable exception I can think of is Final Fantasy, but then I've never played the games much. And of course, Mew Vs Mewtwo, complete with that ~~hillarious~~ really moving "What am I?" speach, was pretty good. Then again, I'll go see Bioshock, not because I've played it, I just like that diving guy on the cover.....
