I just started making my own gefilte fish. We're also getting away from sugar. I've been having fun practicing with cookies too :nod I also don't use splenda or any of that artificial stuff. This is my version of the "purple" cookbooks recipe: fish: 3 lb. ground fish onions, potatoes and carrots ground mix together and add salt and pepper Broth: fish head and bones (sound gross, I know) carrots onions salt pepper Bring broth to a boil and when rapidly boiling, form fish into patties and drop in. Let cook on medium for 1 to 1-1/2 hours. Enjoy! Make sure Dh doesn't finish all of them before shabbos!!! |
