Zun,I'd imagine you'd be DONE by now! With the baby coming and the upsherin... I don't know how I will manage myself!
I was avoiding this thread like the plague, but decided to be brave and face reality.
The problem is that I work now from 11-7, Sun thru tThurs.
So in the morning, it's quality time with Zusha, and general cleaning and maintenance. At night, I put my boy to sleep and unwind. Friday is Shabbos prep, so tell me, WHEN DO I CLEAN!!??
Arg. And I lose 2 weeks before Pesach, since the baby will be here... :baby
Well, we all manage to eke by somehow, with Hashem's help...

I talked with my mashpia and she told me I was off my rocker to start before purim cause of all the chumatz from purim! Her suggestion was to do this- no chumatz on the second floor now. Done. So as I clean normally- it gets erraticated. Than it will just need a once over after purim. The kids get in their pjs downstairs as is so their chumtzy clothes never got up there! Downstairs. Basement can be done also in the same way. I don't let snacks down there anymore. First floor- livingroom, dinningroom, and kitchen. I will bring in a cleaning crew the week after purim (chance to eat up the chumatz!) and have them scrub the whole place. Top to bottom! My husband can get take out until the kitchen is done. The day after the cleaning crew comes do my kitchen (with help from dh!). Basically turn it over than- which honestly isn't so so hard cause most meals are tev safe anyway! Shabbos by that point I can't have challah cause of the allergy issues anyway so Zu and dh will just have to be careful and it kept to one small area! As soon as the challah is done I can serve the meal. Other meals would be chumatz free. We might just have them eat it outside like last year depending on weather. Tev's life and my life wouldn't change to go pesadik really. My freezer will be done and ready way before (like before purim... honestly my basement freezer at this point only has frozen turkey in it anyway so super easy!) so I can get meat. Just have to place and order and go into ny and get it asap when its ready! Guess we will eat take out for a little while. As soon as I have meat I can start cooking and freezing.

My family doesn't mind pesach food at all cause we are so used to it. After this past pesach my house was chumatz free until after tisha b'av cause of Tev's food allergies.

well, my contribution to the pre-pesach effort was to bake a whole bunch, thus converting the illiquid asset (flour) into a very liquid asset (cake) which will have no problem being consumed before pesach.

Just to give the yezer ha ra a kick, we probably should close the forum from Purim until after Pessach... when I went thru my correspondence I saw that I was practically 24/6 corresponding with a friend "what have you done today" "where do you hold" "ah, I don't do the bookshelf this year" "oh, I cannot see it any more" .... <_< Maybe my contribution should be to comitt to writing only one letter per week during this time....

Well, since we are moving into a small apartment this next Monday (finally!), my plan is to not buy any more chumetz baking ingredients. Oh, and what do you think about storing some of my chumetz up at this house since we are not selling it right away?

I always start b4 Purim. And I do not allow the Purim hometz spread further then the dining room. It all gets put aside right away, and kids get their own bags & I enforce "food in the kitchen/ dining room only' rule year round.

to get to the dinningroom would mean going through half the other rooms! LOL!

aaa- I am doing that right now:) I made 3 batches of special oat pancakes for tev last night, a blueberry cobbler, and something else... ahh... why am I blanking. Today I am putting together an apple cobbler, muffins, and cookies- ALL Tev safe!!!! A friend of mine has been getting me recipes for oat flour that doesn't call for eggs! I have 5lbs of oat flour left. I have used 5lbs already! YAY!!!

I finaly decided that next week I'm going to spring clean my laundry and bathrooms. The laundry room is where we usually store our chometz items so it doesn't need to be fully Pesah cleaned and the bathrooms only have to be checked for chometz during the search. 1/4 of my house will be ready two months early :banana :clap2

The only problem.....DH just doesn't listen to the :stop NO CHOMETZ OUTSIDE OF THE DINNING ROOM AND KITCHEN rule. :bricks At least he doesn't usually go into these places with chometz.

I am not thinking about Pesach yet...or rather, I think quite often about it; I'm just not doing anything about my thoughts. My kitchen is miniscule and I can't limit Pinny to eating only there for two months. His highchair doesn't even fit in there, so he eats in the corridor. I don't want him running around the dining room which is also the living room with food in his hand, or at least not too much of it. That leaves the corridor for eating, which would be fine except from there it's just a hop into the bedroom. So no point thinking about anything right now. I guess I can stop eating myself in the BR, though. Also over my keyboard, as soon as I clean it.

In any event, we plan to go away for Pesach so my husband thinks I'm crazy to even think about cleaning anything.
