HOw do you toilet train a kid who really wants to be trained but has no clue what to do & doesn't want to take time out of play to learn???? I was planning to wait a bit with my 2 y.o. but he really wants to try - he will sit on the toilet until he gets bored, i put on underwear covered by a pull up so he feels wet but my floors don't. Then 5 minutes later he has an "accident." He tells me and then we start again. AFter the 3rd wet underwear, I told him we have to try again another day and he threw a huge fit! What on earth should I do with this guy? |

Try taking him to the toilet at 'correct' times. Usually, as soon as he wakes up after meals and every 2 -3 hrs. At least this is what I would do. Good luck! |

Realeez, it seems like your ds just wants to do big boy things: wear underpants, sit on the toilet, but really doesn't understand what to do on the potty. I'd let him wear undies over his pullups and sit on the toilet when he wants, but wait till he really can get what do to on the toilet. |

same thing here. Saul will tell us immediately before he has to go and then goes in his diaper and asks to be changed. He will rarely sit on the potty for us- says "no thanks mommy" but at least he will for his grandparents (who watch him during the day) so maybe there is hope... |
