Almost everything is arranged. Made all the arrangements with the caterer for food to be at the house for out of towners to have lunch by us since the upshern is at 5:30 and they are mostly flying in the night before or that morning. The place and time have finally been set. I just emailed in the specifics on the invites so that they will be printed with the right info. I ordered the photo stamps (instead of putting a pic of Zu in the invitation I got photostamps with a cute pic of him in a yamulka cause it would save us over $50!!) and they should be here in a week. Invites should be here in two. Email for responses has been set up (having people rsvp to the email or call... saves us money on having to order response cards and postage for them! Also email is SO much easier to deal with than those annoying cards!). The menu for the upshern is set and the shluchim will put in the order. Just need to arrange the cake! Got the clippers (the shlucha and I will fix up his hair at the end). Just need to call Hasofer and ask them to send some tzitzis. We will pick up some new yamulkas when we get pesach meat.

I can't believe he is almost three!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow - sounds amazing. You absolutely MUST post pictures of the event! How many people are invited - sounds like a very large party.

realeez- if the baby comes at the latest date than the upshern will be 2 weeks after the baby comes! AHHH! Thats why I want everything done now! Personally I want it all done before Purim if I can help it (well all that is being done on my side of stuff) so that after purim I can focus on baby stuff and pesach. My ob said I could go as early as rosh chodesh nissan but as late as two weeks after pesach! EEK! After purim its going to be nuts between the doc appointments and constant u/s.

Sarah- from my family I would say about 20 people are flying in... maybe a little less. The guys at dh's work want to come (they are all married around when we did but most of them don't have kids yet and they always want Zu updates monday monrings!). Dh's family we could have about 5-10 people. Also friends who aren't necc. part of the shul or live in the community we used to live in. Also cause its lag b'omer we got together with the shluchim so it will be the shul event on top of it. Its going to be at the shul. They are even getting a moon bounce! They are ordering the food and we will just hand over the credit cards (takes a load off me!!). They usually get about 100-150 for lag b'omer when they make it so we are looking at prob about 150! AHH!

just don't be too much of a perfectionist and take any help you are offered!

wow! good luck sara! and i second realeez's advice - don't be a perfectionist- that's the attitude i had for my wedding, and it made it so much less stressful.
both of you had/are having 150 people :eek

the only way that'll happen is if my sis and i do a combo upsherin for our sons in 2 years, i'yH. but she's not even sure if she's keeping the minhag, and truth is, neither are we.

It will be so special for Zu to have his time in the spotlight amongst the new baby frenzy!
I just hope Tev won't feel too left out.
You could ask relatives to pay special attention to Tev, so he won't get lost in all the simchos.

yeah, thats the plan with Tev. also cause of all the food we have already assigned people to be "on" tev. My mom already got him some gifts. Also the morning of the upshern dh is taking Zu to NY to the Lub. Rebbe's ohel. This will give me some special time with Tev. Also planning on lots of special treats for tev like oat muffins and cookies and choc. that he can have!
I think the upshern will be just what Zu needs to get over the baby:)

I am not a perfectionist. haha! My thoughts on the whole thing- as long as zu's hair is cut and we don't have a complete melt down, Tev has no reactions, and I can nurse the baby on demand- they day was a success!

Wow, this sounds amazing. I've never been at an upsherin that had so many people. My sister's kids - they had the grandparents and me. My husband's nephew - all the cousins. Well, maybe there they had 50-60 people.

Believe me, I would! I'd love to see Zu and Tev in real life. Pinny would get a shock, though. He thinks those little pictures on your sig line are him. (He also calls your picture Mommy, btw :ha - well, that's not wrong at least.)

Zu also thinks that the pics on everyone's sigs are Tev. He thinks pics of himself are Tev! We would love to meet Pinny!
