yummy! I make bare bare min with egg in it. A kugel only for YT as a special treat for dh and guests. Since Tev will most likely be sleeping by the time we have the meal I feel okay doing it (and we have a good lock on our fridge). Just have to cook it when he is sleeping one night. |

I'd have to look up my menu from last year, but i think it went something like this: egg soup (hardboiled eggs in salt water) chicken soup with vegetables and kneidlach chicken cacciatore spinach or broccoli kugel and/or mashed potatoes with fried onions and garlic and/or tzimmes beef stew with carrots and potatoes a couple of salads dessert--fruit salad and/or cake and/or cookies One year I tried a chicken recipe I got online. the best part about the recipe was the story that went along with it, all about the writer's Tanta Rivka and her hilarious Pesach preps. the recipe was a disaster but I had to serve it anyway. lesson learned: do not try new recipes for the seder. test-drive them before pesach or during chol hamoed for the following year. |

Probably going to my moms one night... it will be vegetarian, and her menu changes every year. My MIL will make a raspberry brisket which is yummy, but she uses a bullion cube which contains MSG, and also an apricot chicken with Lipton soup mix (more MSG) so chances are I'll eat matzoh this year and maybe some veggies. We ordered our food from NYC, so I had to plan out all our menus already (for the whole week!). I don't remember the whole order, but we are having turkey breast one night and sweet and sour brisket the other. For you non-gebrokhts types, I realized that my lemon merangue pie recipe works for you. I make the crust from ground nuts, sugar and either oil or marg. pressed in a pan and baked for about 10 minutes. You do need potato starch for the custard..... (and for those not buying anything, I'm guessing that means potato kugel adei ad). |

ItsMe, generally, I don't add to much to my roasts - I plunk it in a pan, surround it with pieces of mushrooms and baby carrots, slice up a whole passel of onions and sprinkle them around, and maybe sprinkle it with some pepper and garlic. Then I cover it and bake it. If I feel like it I'll pour some marinara sauce over the whole thing. If I'm afraid it won't release enough moisture I might add some water to the bottom of the pan, but that usually isn't necessary. |
