oat matzah we bring in special. We get a bit of wheat matzah though for us for the seder. The oat I expect to be outrageous! The wheat I was a bit shocked!

My husband payed $43 for 3 lbs of matza.
That's enough for the sedarim and seudos only. For chol hamoed we need to buy more.

Zeesachaya, different ppl consider different matzos more "safe" to use on Pesach. It's not an issue of round vs. square. It's hand matza vs. machine.
Some ppl say hand is the best, since a machine can't be controlled as precisely, and some of the matza might become chometz- plus you have to clean the whole machine every 18 minutes, so nothing will rise.

Others say that a machine is more accurate than a person, so the hand matza might become chometz, since ppl aren't perfect.

The issue is also that the matzas are supposed to be made for the mitzva. So some say that a machine can't think that it is doing it for the mitzva, whereas others argue and say that the people switching on the machine have the right thoughts, whereas with hand-made matzas do all the guys (and girls) (who are for the most part young) think the whole time that they are doing it for the mitzva of matza?

karapooz- we actually paid $16 a pound. Its rediculas! 5 mins after my husband bought it I found out one of the rabbis was bringing in for $10.50 a lb. URG!!! However, at least I can say my matzah won't break my jaw and I can garantee theirs will! Joking our Rabbi when he called and I told him he said he thinks he will be coming to us to save his jow! LOL!

My husband made the matzos with a chabura. Basically a group of men from shul who rented the bakery for the night and baked away. Then the matzos were distributed (sold). The shleimim were more expensive than the broken ones, of course!
