i know so many ppl. who steam clean their carpets b4 pesach. is that really necessary? can't you get rid of all the chometz by vacuuming? i guess if you're gonna do it anyway during the year, then it's a good time to do it. but i'm just wondering if you HAVE to.

i've never heard that it is necessary before pesach. so many ppl make pesach into spring cleaning so then might as well.

i had to do mine in the summer after my tenant who uses mothballs left b/c my enitre basement absorbed the smell and i am allergic to them... i'm not doing it again now.

my playroom carpet is covered in chometz, even after vaccuuming, so I think Ill do it if I can find someone this late. Unless you have REAL chometz that you cannot get out by hand, I wouldn't bother!
