This is way too odd for me. My son speaks pretty well, so I know that these situations aren't a speech issue, but some deep cheshbon of his:

1. He has the same word for monster, high chair andball. Calls them "Tapa"

2. He has the same word for sock, grandmother andbulka (challa roll). Calls them "Kava"

3. He calls the letter Aleph, "Kubi" but the food olive he calls "oluv"

If he can say all these words properly, why does he make up completely different words for them?

I guess only other toddlers would understand!

How old is he? It could be how he hears the sounds. Or he can't pronounce every word.

I think it's totally normal. Simcha is almost 20 months, and he says plenty of words. He calls dh "Abba", but for most other words, he cannot pronounce the letter "b", so it's "daticle" (bycicle), and milk comes out like "bont" (no clue why that is). I think it's totally normal. BeH, with time, he'll be saying everything right.

And then you will miss the cute things they used to say when they were learning.

Yeah, I teach him the right way, then I call my mother and cry to her why did I do this.
He used to call "crayon" "crayok." He was able to say "n" so I taught him crayon.
Then I regretted it- what would happen if he continued to say crayok? I loved it!
I'm not anxious at all! I just think it's funny how toddlers reason.

(Like why would he say "Olive" and not "Alef"? He very seriously calls it kubi)

And he's 22 months, BTW.

He is young, my son said barely anything until he was 2½.
He called Orange Otah for a bit. Then orangsee and now it's orange.
