I think the time has come to share our experiences on this one.

So, my kids are low-iron similac babies -
the regular one constipated them.,
I even used to mix regular & low iron for ds to take away constipation but to get the iron.

One dd also agreed to Isomil, and another dd just despices any formula with all fibers of her soul.

Other formulas just didn't go.

Which one did your kids like(d)?

my first 2 were on Materna Soya, after a few months of breastfeeding.
the last one though would have only breastmilk, and absolutely no formula

my boys had similac advance - the first one had more formula b/c i stopped nursing at 7 months and my 2nd just had a few bottles a week. my dd has enfamil (something like that) b/c it was on sale when we started her on formula- what a great reason! she has like 1-2 4 oz bottles a week if that.

Once Channah came home (7 weeks) she was fully on Similac Advanced. It was what our ped recommended :)

both of mine were on Enfamil Lipil (w/ iron). we tried Enfamil AR with my ds once cuz he used to spit-up a lot. but that just made his spit-up thicker!

in what regards? the thing is it is not really dairy , but dairy equipment. our rav said for a baby it is fine especially since the materna was really not affordable for us.

I use Materna, that's what's available in Cholov Yisroel here. It costs a mint - $12 a can - but it works fine. I would love to switch my son over to regular milk but he reacts to it.

in NY Materna is the cheapest formula, 8.59 a can! similac adveance is 13.99 a can here!

You should ask your Rav re: the chalav yisrael - many say it is fine to use and if the child has no milk allergies acc to many peds the milk formula is much better than the soy especially if that is all that the child is eating.

My first started on Neosure (preemie formula 22calories per ounce) then we moved onto Isomil, My second started on Enfamil for about 2 weeks, it was not agreeing with him so we switched to isomil. This time we have been using similac so far so good, we so far made it one month.
