I bought a blender for Pesach and kept it for chometz, I am all pumped about making low fat smoothies and having yummy snacks on my murderous diet. Any ideas? (No brocolli and cauliflower please)

Oooh I love smoothies, especially in the summer.

I make 'em with vanilla soymilk and frozen berries. For every cup of soymilk, use half as much frozen berries. A tablespoon of honey makes it a little sweeter if you prefer. For extra fiber and nutrition, I add in a quarter cup of wheat bran, but this change the texture pretty dramatically, so try it with less and work your way up. You can also add ground flax seed to the mix if you want. I keep whole flax seed on hand and use a handheld coffee grinder to grind it up right before adding (ground flax seed gets kind of yucky quickly, so if you store it whole, you can grind it as you go without waste.)

I keep a bunch of bags of frozen fruit in the freezer for smoothies so I can have them at any time. Mango chunks, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, pineapple chunks.... I love mixing up different combinations and the truth of the matter is, they're all delicious.

Mango makes an especially smooth and thick smoothie. Berries are seedy, but it's good for you! :)

Yum!
