I can't keep Gedalya anywhere but the playpen! Zusha gets him in the bassinet, in the swing, in my arms, on my bed... I can't even change the poor kid's diaper without taking toddler-chasing breaks. The playpen is the safest place cuz Zusha can't reach, but he can throw in things!! Once I came out of the bathroom to find Zusha's boots, 2 toothbrushes and a couple of toys in the playpen. Another time Gedalya had a CD lying perfectly on his stomach! WHAT TO DO?? :kermit :kermit :kermit :kermit :kermit :kermit :kermit :kermit :kermit |

i know my baby spent a lot of time in his babyseat on the dining room table or kitchen counter. if you go to the bathroom, and really can't trust zusha, then either take the baby along in a seat, or "lock" one of them into a room w/ a gate. |

Zusha spends changing-time in his crib. On the table would be his prime target! |

gate off the room baby's in. No other way out of it. Just be careful not to give an impression that wanting to hug a sibling, give him a kiss, help mommy change diaper, is a bad thing. It will fire back. Give him jobs when changing baby: he can hold wipes, clean diaper, take the dirty one into the garbage. All with loads and loads of praise. Good luck & welcome to the club! :) |

Oh, sure, I let him help and he loves it. I also allow hugs and kisses for five minutes at a time. Then I pull him off with pliers. Seriously, 5 mins is more than enough. He'd do it all day. I can'tgate off a room, bec there's only 1 room where we can be during the day. |

Zusha likes to point to (read: poke out) various body parts and name them. Eyes: Blok Nose: Nene Mouth: Mlemo Head: Tiapa etc... |

Use a SLING!!! You can carry your baby in the sling as you chase after your active toddler. |

Yeah, at least I know Gedalya will be very good in self defense. Zusha will teach him how to dodge oncoming attacks! Poor kid probably thinks that this is life in this world. Want to eat? Fight your way! Re: sling- Zusha would love if I did that- instant access to baby if I ever lean down or kneel to his level! PS: I LOOOVE my hotsling!! Best $40 I ever spent! So easy to use and get Gedalya up and down 4 flights of stairs every day. Also if he cries outside cuz he's hungry, I pop him in and head home. He quiets down INSTANTLY. |

I got a baby bjorn for my dd which was very helpful w/ her 2 big brothers (3.5 then and 2) Only 2 problems... 1) I can't really use it when cooking - i wouldn't carry a pot of hot water w/ the baby so close to it... 2) You can't have the same fun with your kids with the baby in one - it's too hard to dance and jump around or get on your hands and knees/crouch down while playing. |
