Well, It's Zusha's birthday 'week' - between his English and Jewish birthdays, Wed-Wed. I want to make something for my in-laws on Sunday, for my mom on his actual b-day, since she works at home and can make time on a weekday, and with my husband on his 'erev' birthday- Tue night. My inlaws plan to take us to a local zoo. (Hooray!) Zusha has never been to one. I want to make something small at home before we leave. Like salmon with salads and a cake. I'm afraid it will all be too hectic. What do you all think? It will take a lot of time to install car seats into their car and the kids into the seats. Any tips to make it smooth sailing? And fun for Zusha? I haven't gone on any trips with 2 kids yet, and am a bit anxious. What if Gedalya won't behave? I don't want to ruin Zusha's day! Any other simple tips? I'll get helium balloons, make him a crown... What else? Of course there are presents! ;) I just want it to work out nicely. Those who have gone on trips with 2 little monsters, please tell me how you survived! |

Happy Birthday!! Something dh and I noticed was that if we had the kids in the stroller they couldn't see so well. Now we make a point of bringing the backpack carrier. When Tev was born we would put him in the bjorn and Zu in the backpack. This way they could see everything going on and had a much better time! Dh always looked so funny with both on at the same time (he used to do it all the time- Zu on his back and Tev on his front!). I think we might need a second backpack for Tev now. Food wise- can you make a picnic at the zoo? we love doing that! |

I'm afraid a picnic in the zoo with my in-laws might just be a disaster! Just too many ppl to keep it organized, and the only one keeping it organized will be ME! Besides, packing the food will take too long, and we need to pack the KIDS as it is... lol But we'll take along small snacks like fruits, crackers, and cheese and stuff. What I am wary of is having to nurse Gedalya in the middle... |

With tev when he needed to nurse it became snack time for all. We would find a shadt spot on the grass that zu could play on. |

Why don't you have your in-laws carry/take care of Gedalya (except for nursing of course) and then you can spend more time with Zusha |

lilac- good idea! Yeah, I'll need to breathe very deeply and often. Maybe I'll nurse in the car... (while it's parked, of course...) |
