So my inlaws came on time. I got everything ready by then. As soon as they came I set the table and we sat down. Zusha was an angel! So polite and ate so neatly. In middle Gedalya woke up and joined us. He was in a good mood, B"H. Then we had the cake. I wasn't up to baking, so it wasn't a healthy cake like last year. But to make up for it, I iced it with strawberry farmer cheese and decorated with sour cream. It looked and tasted yum!
Then I nursed Gedalya while my inlaws taught Zusha to ride the bike they bought him. Then we trooped to the car. Zusha rode around some more while I installed car seats. Gedalya fell asleep right away and slept thru the whole trip!
We went to the zoo. Zusha loved all the animals. He especially loved feeding the goats and sheep!
He was so happy! And all went so smoothly- all my worries were in vain.
Zusha didn't cry or give a tantrum once, and Gedalya slept.

I'm floating on cloud 9! Haven't been so happy since I gave birth.

The only thing I'm doubtful of is that my inlaws gave Zusha a 2 wheeler with training wheels instead of a trike. I don't know if he'll be able to ride it. He's ok when someone's right on top of him, but if I step away, he'll fall. Oh, well.

So his presents were: the bike from my inlaws, from me he got a hobby horse (horse head on a stick to put between the legs and pretend to ride) and from dh- a book of 1000 Yiddish words. It's beautiful- has pics of all everyday items like kitchen, school, outdoors, body parts, opposites... and all are labeled with Yiddish words. AND they're laminated! (toddler proof)

I took tons of pics! I'll post eventually, when I load them.

Mazeltov, karapooz. I love that yiddish book. I saw it in eichlers when I was in Ny last week, but ended up buying another two just as beautiful. I am soo happy that books like these are coming out now. When my oldest kids were little, I would translate English books--just not the same ykwim?

Mazel Tov!!!

it seems like the 2 wheeler w/ training wheels is the latest thing - I heard that it is harder to find tricycles b/c these are "taking over."

Mazel Tov on Zush's birthday!! Sounds like it was very nice and enjoyed by all!

I want to get a 2 wheeler with training wheels for Simcha's birthday. He rides his tricycle without a hitch and is constantly getting on Reuven's bike and riding it (witht he pedals!!) even though it's too big for him. THe problem is, the only small one they make that I can seem to find is a Radio Flyer and really expensive! He's getting a hand of Ru's 12 inch one though, so maybe we'll try to get him one of htose and put it on the lowest seat and handlebar setting. I'm amazed at how he rides!

Gayil- Zusha's never had a bike before, so it might be a bit tough for him. Although he's catching on fast! One prob is he can't reach the floor with his feet while on it, so if he loses his balance, he can't catch himself.

It's me: :)

And the book- it can be bought at any Judaica store like Eichler's. It's only in Yiddish. For those who speak English to the kids, you can probably get a cheaper and better made one (Just like a picture dictionary.)
This one has edited pics to make it look Jewish, and since they don't have their own resources, they take pics from all over, and they are disproportionate to each other a bit.
But as far as Yiddish books go, it's one of the best. Bonus- no questionable pics like holiday trees and stuff.
