Both of my girls are Menachem Av babies - according to their Hebrew birthdays they're a day short of a year apart. Of course, they'll be turning 15 and 14, not two... |

Simcha just makes it, he was born erev rosh chodesh elul! I was so sure he was going to be a Tisha B'av baby, but I made it through. I'm sure this baby, b"eH, will be a Yom Kipur baby, cuz my due date is 2 weeks after, and both my kids were 2 weeks early. Guess we'll see what happens. |

Pinny will be two on 16 Tammuz, so he's the big boy around here.
:) I just started to explain to him yesterday that he's going to have a birthday; I wonder when he's going to get it. Do we have to make a party? |

Pinny's 28 days younger than Zusha! Did anyone notice that we have major patterns in this forum? Most of the kids turning 2 are boys. Most of the kids born recently are also boys. Then half a year ago all the girls were being born. Not to mention all the concentrated upsherins!! |

I did notice that karapooz. We also had a bunch of boys born right around Zu. His class compared to others is going to be big. We also have a bunch of girls here right arunf Freida. ebp- I am not making Tev one. I did not make anything by Zu until the upshern. We did something just us as a family. |

When Ru was born, I think there must have been a bris a day in yeshiva the week he had his bris!!! It just amazes me, how HBH orchestrated it that no one had a bris on the same day!!! |

thanks, Sara. I didn't think it was necessary to do anything till his upsherin, but wanted to be sure I wasn't an unnatural mother. |

Of course, you don't HAVE to. I did cuz A: my family expected something B: I wanted to give him a fun time, since he's been so sad lately about the changes to his tranquil life. C: I wanted it for myself to comemorate 2 years of parenthood. |

I made cakes for all the kids birthdays, but no real event beyond mommy daddy and brothers till the upsherins! ( but the upsherins were both full blown affairs!) :luv IMHO, the kids don't really get it before they are 3, my two year old was happy with the cake, but he is always happy when there is cake! He found the candles very entertaining too.....He almost took a year off my life ! |

depends on what you call "making a party", i think. i did something special for my children for every single birthday, just no mega parties with lots of people and food, but for sure something "out of the ordinary". i remember very well as a child how exciting birthdays are, and i would like to give my children those memories too. just my 2 cts :) |
