YT had his 4-month checkup today (thats c'v not why I'm sad). DH took him and called me from the car on the way home. He said YT had been in a great mood - smiley and gurgling - until the nurse gave him his shots.... 4 of them!! Dh said he finally got him quiet but that in the car he was whimpering until he fell asleep. I was so sad to hear that - I think on my lunchbreak I'm gonna run out to the babysitter to give him a hug.

Poor baby - It makes me so sad when he's sad or in pain....

yeah, I remember this from his 2 months shots - but the difference is that I was there to snuggle him then. Today DH took him while I went to work... That's why I wanna go to the babysitter - I think I could use a hug from him!

We're getting another shot tonight :( I did not want Gavriel to get so many shots at once - so we're spreading them out a little, he's getting one at a time for now... but it's so sad to see them so sad :(
HUGS to you and YT!

So I stopped to see him. He was falling asleep in the babysitter's arms, so shifting him to me woke him a little - he is definitely cranky, but B"H not screaming. He doesn't have fever so we decided she shouldn't give him Tylenol unless/until he needs is (i.e. crying as opposed to fussy). And now I can go through the rest of my day without visions of him whimpering... :(

Oy, poor baby!
Gedalya just had them last week. He was shrieking his poor little lungs out!
I'll be giving him his shots more spread out than usual.
Zusha got sick EVERY time within a week of getting vaccinated. REALLY sick. And now that I haven't given him shots for almost a year, he hasn't gotten sick since. So I'm really hesitant to go back on schedule.

bighug!
i always found that my kids had the worst time of needles the first time - at 2 months. we just keep up w/ round the clock tylenol for 24 hours as per the ped's instructions. usually the parents have a harder time with it than the kids!

our ped gives tylenol before. It really ticked me off cause Frei is allergic to corn which tylenol contains and the nurses gave me a REALLY hard time about refusing it for her.

What part if "allergic" did they not understand, exactly?

well the ped doesn't even get how she could have such a sensitivity at such a young age.

Is this the same ped Tev goes to? After what you're going through with him, one would think, you would know what you're doing.
