I live in a building with a lot of young families.

Someone had a boy a couple of weeks back and I was happy to help bake for the sholom zochor and bris.

Now another neighbor had a girl and I’m sure the Kiddush in shul this Shabbos will be catered. Most of the shuls don’t want home made stuff. Anway with Tisha B’av looming I have no time to make anything extra and get it to them in enough time to get it to shul before Shabbos anyway! (I work full time).

So, I chose a fancy one piece short outfit; she has a big borther already so I hope it will be appreciated.

What do you all think?

I think you are being amazingly thoughtful and generous. You baked for the bris even though you work F/T? Wow! Surely your neighbors are not expecting you to give them a gift every time s/o has a baby? That could get out of hand if you have a lot of young families in the building.

Anyway, what you bought sounds lovely--I'm sure they will appreciate it, esp. since it's a second baby. Ppl get lots of gifts for a first but much fewer for a second.

The first baby is a boy.

Sure I bake and help out! I am part of an organization that sends new families meals for 2 weeks after a birth. It’s a “hobby”. What else should I do with my free time…….I’m cooking anyway, right?
