Short of making this alarm clock - you attach a treadmill ramp mechanism to his bed then attach a coffee maker auto on timer to the ramp which automatically dumps him on the floor at the set time

I want to see this irl!!!!!

roflol!!!!!! :ha haha

I was just reading my son's Student/Parent Handbook and it says, "It is the parent's responsibility to ensure that the student is at school on time."

Interesting. Ours does not. And I know that the hanhalah supports us in making him responsible for it. It does seem to me that it doesn't teach a child responsibility to make it the parents' achrius at the high school level. Most boys his age aren't even at home!

DH puts alarm clocks and sleeps through them. The whole house wakes up, but he continues sleeping. So I just turn off his alarm clock every night so we can get some sleep, and I wake him myself when the kids wake up. If he doesn't get up, I let Gedalya loose on his bed.
Maybe try that with Batsheva? ;) lol

Ds is 13 y.o. going into 8th grade. Maybe they figure if the parents feel responsible, we'll make sure they learn to do it on their own. :dontknow

The day schools, yes, I understand that you can make it the parents ultimately responsible. Though when I was talking with my mom, she reminded me that they gave me a clock/radio in 4th or 5th grade and that was when they stopped waking me up!

He got up on his own, but missed his ride. Oh well, biking to school is good exercise.

As a parent, I would remind you that just because you have "success" once does not mean you should not expect relapses.

He may "experiment" with the biking option on and off for a while, until the weather gets bad and he realizes that a heated car is the best way...
