As all of us went though as a teenager, it was my stepson's turn yesterday! Afterschool her went out with some friends to the park, and the got drunk on whiskey. we don't know exactally how much they drank, but my not always so smart stepson, was the one who brought home the empty bottle. He was being the good samaritan, who brought home the bottle to recyle it! Either than that was a dead give away, he was the funniest cutes drunk I've ever seen! He had the biggest dopiest grin on his face and all he could say was " I love you, and I'm sorry (big grin). Unfortunately he must have slept off his hangover, 10 hours of sleep after puking from being drunk, cause he didn't have a headache this morning. He also claimes he doesn't remember much of last night either, which is too bad ecause he won't have learned his lesson oif he can' remember asking how long he was going to feel aweful for if he can't remember feeling aweful. however this will hopefully be a lesson learned from the massive grounding he got, and the constant rememinder of why he is grounded! Having trouble getting them up in the morning doesn't seem so bad now, does it! Just wait all you tennager's moms, you'll have your chance at this one too, at some point! And I wish you good luck and lots of patients! :hugs |

I still remember the whoopin' I got around that age. It'll help him remember, but I don't know if it will help him not drink. The best punishment is usually the consequences, remembering losing your lunch and the headache. Whiskey is a hard start for a 14 yr old. Unfortunately in some circles the chevra have a lot more say in this than the parents. |
