(Enlitened Jewish Cooking)

actually I was out to buy a dress but when that did not succeed I figured I also could buy this cookbook which I had seen a couple of days ago.
I read it cover to cover (okay I am lying, but I went thru it and read the most interesting things) on the busride from Jerusalem to Gush Dan and it is good.
Even when you never cooked diet before this is it!
It tells you where and how to save eggs, sugar and carbs, tells you which carbs are good, how much you should have of it and has substitution explanations for dieabetes patiens FOR EVERY RECEPIE! :nod
I promise that I will scann things that are always needed like Kneidelach as fast as we have our scanner installed.

I was comparing Eichlers prices to Feldheims. Even though they don't have this cookbook yet, they are lower in price for 2 other cookbooks.

RivkaS your new cookbook sounds like it will complement this book:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detai...681708?v=glance

So far I've read 200+ pages and I'm finding it very helpful. It's not a cookbook, though there are some recipes. It's more a fact finding guide to findng the right diet for each of us and helping us stay motivated and on target so we do loose the weight and inches we want to.

I plan on both DH and me beginning our diet the week after Simchat Torah and hope to be near my goal by Pesach. I hope to get this other book as well. thanks

I had it in my hand but it was either the cookbook or the tip-book and I decided in favor for the cookbook since dieting tips I have from a previous-book about the glycemic index.

Did anybody else get this book? I made only veggies out of it so far and that was not exactly well received by the fat/sugar eating family

I bought it last week. I made the 'low in everything' chicken. It was yum! However I'm finding a lot of the recipes are using ingredients that I don't have lieing around so I'll have to search them out to start cooking...

I'm thinking about it. I collect cookbooks, but I'm not going to buy it if I don't use it. I'll have to take a look at it the next time I'm in the store.

scrappingmom, the recipes from it are very "normal" - you don't need weird ingredients - they are mostly regular recipes and if it calls for artificial sugar u can use the real thing (unless u like artificial!).
